I can still see him playing it at Diana's service.

To me he is possibly one of the greatest musicians that has ever lived.....I could listen to him everyday and sometimes do. When I am in my stamping studio I listen to his smooth mellow voice...it makes a difference in the way my cards turn out! I swear it does!

I love many of the older Elton John tunes. Elton and Bernie really had some beautiful collaborations. My absolute favorite is Tiny Dancer. I never get tired of hearing it.

"Daniel" is my favorite. I also like the songs he sang for The Lion King, "Circle of Life" and the duet he did with Leann Rhimes, "Written in the Stars".

Daniel would be my favorite song, but I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues runs a close second. I've always been a big fan of Elton John. Unfortunately, there aren't many musicians today that can actually be called artists when it comes to their lyrics, like Elton John and the rest of his generation of musicians could be.

my favorite has to be tiny dancer...i have no idea why, but i can't help but wanting to sing along... Here are the lyrics for it: Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand Jesus freaks out in the street Handing tickets out for God Turning back she just laughs The boulevard is not that bad Piano man he makes his stand In the auditorium Looking on she sings the songs The words she knows, the tune she hums But oh how it feels so real Lying here with no one near Only you and you can't hear me When I say softly, slowly Hold me closer tiny dancer Count the headlights on the highway Lay me down in sheets of linen you had a busy day today Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand

"We All Fall in Love Sometime" off the Yellow Brick Road album. It is such a beautiful song and my thought is that it is somewhat auto biographical. When Elton and Bernie were colaborating, Elton admitted that he had a major crush on Bernie. Bernie is straight, but I'm thinking that he might have known of Elton's feelings. Then again, it might just be my romantic nature. Unrequited love and all that. LOL "Did we didn't we could we should we I'm not sure cause sometimes we're so blind struggling through the day when even your best friends say don't you find we all fall in love sometimes"

"I'm Still Standing." It applies to any of us who have made it through the psychodelic rock years in which Elton wore through all those glasses.

That's certainly one of my favorite; you described it perfectly and I agree totally. There are so many good Elton John songs and they're not all the same, like with some artists where if you've heard one you've heard them all. I have to say two of my favorites are two of the older songs - "Your Song" and "Blue Eyes". "Your Song" is one of the most beautiful simple love songs ever written, in my opinion. Annie

I love Elton John's songs. Circle of Life from the movie Tarzan; the song he's written for Princess Diana, Candle In The Wind; "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" always brings me back in the old times when i used to hear that song in our old house every Sunday afternoon, and Daniel, one of his best song ever.

My favorite is Skyline Pigeon and the lyrics below will tell you why. Turn me loose from your hands Let me fly to distant lands Over green fields, trees and mountains Flowers and forest fountains Home along the lanes of the skyway For this dark and lonely room Projects a shadow cast in gloom And my eyes are mirrors Of the world outside Thinking of the way That the wind can turn the tide And these shadows turn From purple into grey For just a Skyline Pigeon Dreaming of the open Waiting for the day He can spread his wings And fly away again Fly away skyline pigeon fly Towards the dreams You've left so very far behind Just let me wake up in the morning To the smell of new mown hay To laugh and cry, to live and die In the brightness of my day I want to hear the pealing bells Of distant churches sing But most of all please free me From this aching metal ring And open out this cage towards the sun

"Philadelphia Freedom" gets my vote. "Levon" would be a close second if I knew what the story behind it is ....

Yellow Brick Road. When I first heard it as a kid I played it over and over and over again til I got sick of it! i don't know what it is about it but it just carries you. I also love Your Song. It's so beautiful. Elton's songwriter Bernie is such a talented composer. And Elton is a great artist too. That's real quality music there.
