Those friggin' emails of someone wanting to transfer millions of dollars into my account...I'm now getting a minimum of five a day...this is a sample of one of them: (quote from my email) Mr.Kelvin Brown. Hi pyewacket dear! I think our spam filters can't really filter everything. I do get spam mails and get into my regular mails too although I have already spammed them. I guess, the technology is not that perfect. However, I am still thankful that it did lessen a bit. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day! :)

Aren't they such an annoying bunch of emails. The really sad thing is that there are still some people who fall for these and give them their personal information and then they go running to Judge Judy. I especially hate the "enhancement" emails. Got one a few days ago that said "Dude, angry Anna and sad Susan really want to you get this product"!

inspector - investigation
FBI is collecting those letters and is working with Interpol. American consumers are being scammed to the tune of $100 million annually by international con artists, who send the letters primarily from Nigeria and other West African countries. As I mentioned elsewhere, libertarianfreedom21, by replying back to them, even with a threat that you're reporting them to the FBI it only makes you a target all the more...one should NEVER reply to them

Hi pye,:) Yes, unfortunately, I've been getting these for what seems like 'months.' They range from wanting me to be their business partner, telling me I'm their long lost relative, sometimes that I've won an online lottery, etc.etc. They come from a variety of countries, and Nigeria is a very popular one. There's also the UK, and the Netherlands, among others. When I first got them, I tried reporting one, but then was advised not to, by somebody who knows computers. They told me to just delete them, as I could leave myself open to hackers, and viruses. It's so annoying, but nowadays, I just hit delete. Take care.

You're very welcome.:) I really hate the ones, that request my 'home address,' and 'phone number.' They must be kidding! Obviously, they think that a lot of people are really gullible, to say the least.

YES! I got more of them just today! I don't know what it is with these things. They just keep coming! One of the ones I got today wanted to give me 25% of whatever it was he was trying to get, keep 65% and use the other l0% for expenses. Geez, 25%? I don't think so! Otherwise, I might have just answered and said yes. But 25% isn't enough, dammit. I want at least 50% of these gazillions of dollars, for cryin out loud! Every day I get them, but so far none of them are good enough.

I hate these emails too. A news guy in our area called one of these guys and told them they were a scam and he basicaly admited it and then told the news guy off. People are getting pretty gutsy now days. I wonder how often it works?

Well, it's a difficult situation and sadly it is quite difficult to shrug them off. Whatever you do, don't open such mails and remember to delete them as well cuz they can be harmful in numerous ways. It is also difficult to mail back such person cause they are serious and mean buisness typos... meaning they might harm you through computer systems.

Does that really stop them though? I've heard the worse thing one can do is email these jerks back then they know they hit a "live" one...meaning a legit email address.

I get these all the time too. About the only thing you can do is delete them and/or report them to scams@fraudwatchinternational.com but the Nigerian scams you can fax a copy to the US Secret Service (202)406-5031. It won't stop them from coming but at least I feel like I've done something. The worst thing you can do is reply to them because it just lets them know they have reached a valid email address and they intensify.

I get so many of these freaking emails, pyewacket, that I'm beginning to wonder if I even have a Spam Blocker! These things are insidious, and there seems to be no way to stop them. I have reported so many of them -yet they just keep coming. It is frustrating, to say the least. I wish I knew the answer.

I sometimes wonder that too. Up until recently I just got those kind of emails in my spam folder...I always check it out since every once in awhile I get a legitimate email that doesn't belong in my spam folder...but now I'm getting these stupid things in my regular emails

I've gotten a few of those, but nowhere near as many as you say you're getting. I always just delete it if I can tell from just the first few lines(which usually you can) that it is one of those.

I have been getting those emails like once to twice a week .. But no more I find that certain email clients like take gmail for example only allow those who you have deemed that you want email from to get through everything else goes to a spam bin where you can look and trash .. I would try a new email client .. Have a nice day.
