Certain times my cats runs crazy

Why is it that cats/kittens have their certain times for running around from point A to point B like there's no tomorrow? My cat has his certain times for this. He chooses to run early in the morning when I'm trying to get my son ready for school. At first I thought it was because he was letting me know there's no food in his dish, then I would fill it for him. Well that theory is thrown out due to this morning's experience with the lil fella! There was food in his dish and a generous amount, but he was still running at full tilt! I think it's cute in a bad way. If you have a kitten/cat, does yours do the same?

oh yeah, my cat totally does this. she'll just run back and forth, the length of my apartment and up and over the furniture a billion in a row. there isn't a specific time that she does it, though it does often seem that she likes to go crazy and make noise when i'm trying to get some sleep. i think she just has extra energy and needs her exercise, which makes me feel a bit badly since i live in a tiny apartment and there isn't a ton of room for her to run!

My cat is just the same.he gets a massive burst of energy and stalks all the kids toys-then runs through the house. So funny when he turns a corner in the kitchen on vinyl flooring,he skids into the wall.Such a funny sight!

Mine does that too at night and in the morning and afternoon and evening. Depends what day it is and what mood he's in. It's never the same, sometimes it 4 times a day, 3,2, or 1. Rarely 1 though. Thanks for replying

My cat does his daily jogging early afternoon when I am trying to get some gardening done. Not only does he run, he also bounces on some of the potted plants. I guess it's their playtime ritual. LOL

I think my favorite is seeing my cat bolt from room to room then stop suddenly and has a hump on his back like he's seen his worst enemy. Sometimes I purposely get him rowled up on my own, and I have the scars on my hands to prove it

I have a cat that is 10 years old and she still does this. I tyhink its just a way of them playing. We didn't have her fixed until a little over a year ago and the vet said it would make her slow down and that she would get heavlier.Well it hasn't slowed her down at all and she just gained a little bit of weight. She jumps from the corner of the ceiling runs through the hall way and back up to the other corner. My husband always says shes spasing again. I think she is just playing.lol

LMAO! Speaking of spazzing.. my cat is doing it right now playing with a drink cap in the kitchen, I can hear him. Also last night we seen him run into our bedroom, and heard the blinds shuffling then seen him run across the hall into my son's room. Wow talk about energetic! Crazy lil cat. Your cat sounds funny. I love cats!
