AC says it pays between $3 and $20 for each article. Obviously exclusive submissions will be offered more money. How much of a difference have you noticed between offers for exclusive and non-exclusive articles? Which topics have you received the highest offers for?
So far, they have offered me between $3 and $4 for all of my articles, mostly in parenting and education topics.

I've noticed that controversial topics receive the most payment. Product reviews on common products and articles that would be commonly searched for also often receive a lot higher payments. Lately, they haven't been paying as much. On average before I was making $8 an article. Lately I've been getting $6 on everything. Since I have so many articles up though, the performance payments do help out. But still, I am less likely to write now that the payments for the actual articles are lower.

I always submit mine as exclusive. I think it's paid off in the long run.
Lately I'm trying to get back to writing because there are some things I'd like to buy that I can't really afford without getting through through extra money I could make doing something like writing. But I can't seem to think of as many ideas now that I've written over 100 articles.

Do you submit your articles as exclusive or non exclusive?

Hi, I just subscribed to you on AC. Great articles! I have discovered that yes, as you say, they pay more for exclusive. I have yet to see a $20. I also have found that Calls to Content can often pay more than submitting something as Exclusive so watch for those. The most I have made was an exclusive for $8 so I keep watching for more. I found that one under Calls to Content. Each time I send in more articles my page views increase dramatically. They continue to increase month by month so hang in there. I try to set a goal each month to submit a set amount of articles. Also, if you are on Helium, and you do not submit to AC exclusive you can cross submit them and earn money on both sites. I like the current contest in helium if you have seen that you might try getting into that it is going until April 14. If you are not on Helium go to my site through my profile and sign up or send me a message with your e-mail and I will send you an invite. I have sent you a friend request here on mylot. I have earned several hundred so far on AC. Keep up the great work. Average earnings per article are $3 to $5 so keep at it. :)

Thanks, Countrymom. I am on Helium and have put some of my non exclusive articles from AC on Helium as well. The links to my content at AC and Helium are in my profile here. I've found that AC won't give an upfront payment for something already on Helium because it is 'too reputable' and the piece would compete with itself. I guess that speaks to Helium's credibility.
I'm doing well at Helium. I just have been having a hard time finding the time to write much these days.

I always submit my articles as exclusive because I haven't found another site that pays as much to make up the difference anyway.
It's rare to receive over $10 on AC, but I can say that I've made $50 on one article before. So I have hope to keep writing that I'll sometimes get more than $6. :)
