To all those women out there that are suffering with menopause, how do you deal with it? I hate that I am going through menopause. I get the hot flashes all day long and can't stand them. My doctor won't put me on any more hormone pills because she says I have been on them too long already. So she won't give me another perscription for estrogen. At night time I sleep with a fan directly on me so that i can at least get some sleep. Otherwise I am awake most of the night. What do you do to help those hot flashes? Please help me with this, I can't take it anymore. It has been 6 years already of this, when will it stop?

Hello dear chrislotz. I hope that you will find a good way to get through the special period of menopause with the help of your doctor. Please take good care of yourself not to work too hard, but have a very good rest instead so that you will have good night sleep. Take care.

The doctor says to just grin and bear it because she won't give me anymore perscriptions for estrogen. But thanks for the response, my friend.

Being 60 years old I am so happy I am over that! When I was going through it I took hormone therapy for a short time and boy did that help. I only suffered for a few months before I went to gyn and as soon as I started on them all everything stopped. I couldn't stand waking up in my bed soaked and dealing with the hot flashed in the day. Not to mention the mood swings I was experiencing. I don't envy you my friend. Since I took the medication I can't really say how long it lasts but my mother went through it for ten years. They say it's genetic and every woman is different.
