How's your sight?

Do you have 20/20 visions or are you like me and have to wear glasses? Do you or have you ever worn contact lenses? I used to wear contact lenses all the time until the last few years. I started to get this gooey stuff in my eyes and so my eye doctor told me I couldn't wear contacts anymore. Now I have a new pair of glasses and I hate them. My ears get sore, my nose gets sore, and they are always in the way, especially when i am laying down. I need to wear them all the time because my eyesight is so bad I can't not wear them. If they ever break I would be lost and not be able to do anything. I even have to put them on to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night or I would bump into everthing. So share if you wear glasses or have perfect vision.

How I wish that I had perfect vision. No I haven't so I choose to wear contact lenses. I wear daily contact lenses and I buy a year's supply at a time from a company on the Internet. They are moist and stay fresh and comfortable all day. I didn't get on very well with the contacts that lasted for 2 weeks or a month. Especially when traveling I found it not so easy to clean them effectively in the heat and the dust. I have to put my contact lenses in when I am outside when traveling in a place that has poor light. I first got glasses aged 10 because I couldn't see the blackboard clearly from the back of the class. I felt horrid wearing them when I was 16 to 20. At 21 I got contact lenses and found these easier than one pair of glasses and on pair of prescription sunglasses. Yes, my eyesight is so bad I must continue to wear contact lenses or get glasses. I am short sighted and can't see detail just a blur without my corrective lenses. Good luck getting used to glasses or could you try daily contact lenses?

I am not sure what my vision is but I alway pass all my drivers license eyesight exams and I dont have glasses. So I have better than 20/40. My husband on the other hand has horrible vision. he is 20/200 or something like that last time he got checked. He can't even read the big E on the eyechart. I know on his contact prescription it says -3.75 on one and like -3.8 on the other. I don't really know what that means but I know its not good.

I wear glasses all the time. As the optometrist explained it, I have a stigmatism, which supposedly means my eyes focus differently. I see blurry out my right eye and almost clearly out of my left. The optometrist said at this can do without glasses if I want, but I decided to get em. I don't really like walking with 2 differently focused eyes lol, and as anyone would tell you that has the same problem I have, it feels very uncomfortable and awkward. As I am now though, my eyesight has gotten a little blurrier, I can see without my glasses, but not too well. And I get them annoying me too espesh when I wanna lay down and watch tv or something like that. I like to lay on my side, which means I have to take em off and watch tv with one eye closed LOL. Another thing that sucks is that it's mid summer here, and I'm pretty much in the middle of the desert, well the sun tends to turn your skin brown. I always sweat alot too and they slide doen my nose. I have 2 lovely white lines on the sides of my head where the sun hasn't tanned it. I also have 2 lovely red marks on my nose where the nose pieces sit lol. I wouldn't mind contacts but I can't afford them :( My glasses I have already were covered by medicare and I didn't pay for them, and that program doesn't cover contacts. Only one free pair of glasses every 2 years and I think you are allowed new lenses when you need them though. Gawwd I love the aussie government healthcare.

I have pretty good vision now. When I had cataract surgery last year, I had intraocular lenses inserted that corrected my vision. Very nice. I'll need a little touch up procedure in a few years and my vision will diminish slightly until then. I still use glasses for driving and for long distance - like at a sporting event. The procedure is different than lasik. whit

I have had perfect vision for many years. In my family, I was about the only one who did not have to wear spectacles or contacts. When I was 18 years old, I had to do 2.5 years of National Service, and I was drafted into the Navy as a communicator. This was one vocation which required people to have perfect eyesight. That's because as a communicator, I had to be able to read flag signals and light signals (flashing morse code) from other ships, and interpret them. When another ship flashes its signaling lantern to send morse code messages, that ship can be 5 miles away and we had to have sharp vision to be able to not only see the light, but distinguish between the dots (short flashes) from the dashes (long flashes) to make out the alphabets transmitted. My eyesight is still good, but as age catches up with me, the eyes are not so great anymore for reading in dimmer light. So in recent months, after much persuasion from my wife, I finally put aside my vanity and got myself a pair of reading glasses, which I use occasionally when reading newspapers and books. Otherwise, I can still manage without glasses and I can see well normally wherever I go.

I have to wear glasses but fortunately only for the computer, for reading or watching television I don't need them, so I guess I have got the computer to thank for my eyesight being slightly wonky LOL! I have my eyes tested every three years which is expensive business and I dread going, more so for the hefty bill as they are so damn expensive and you don't get help if you are out of work. I agree they are uncomfortable at times but I would never switch to contact lens, I'm too much of a coward and I couldn't mess with my eyes putting them in and out ewww makes me squeamish thinking about it.

I am wearing contacts right noe. I have glasses. I wear them often. No perfect sight here. But that doesn't bother me. I wear my glasses at least 2 days a week. Want to let my eyes breathe. Just a habit I am in. I think over all it's better for the eyes. Sorry you don't like your new glasses. From the sound of it they need to be resized so your ears and nose won't get sore. That has happend to me a few times. And I took them back. They fixed me right up.

As someone else in this discussion mentioned, it sounds as though your glasses were not fitted properly. The sore ears and the sore nose certainly sound like your glasses are not sitting centred on your face. If you aren't able to get adjustments from where you bought them, you could check to see if another place might do some adjustments. I've been wearing glasses for 40+ years. There have been times when they have been uncomfortable from the get go. Whenever that happened, I got them readjusted. Because I wear glasses all day, I make sure the fit is so comfortable that I can forget I have them on. I even wore them to bed once ... until I rolled over and realized I still had them on.

I have to wear glasses too. I have ever worn contact lenses for seven years, but then my eyes got tired so easily and I was warned by a client back then (he was a good client) that I had better not worn contact lenses anymore, he told me about one incident happened to someone he knew, he said that contact lenses had caused blindness to that person and when the person got a check up, the result displayed how his eyeball only had half part remaining and it was because the inner part was burnt (from the effect of the contact lense)! I was shock to hear that. and I switched to glasses by the next day. I don't want it happen to me. and well, I'm glad that I feel better with my glasses.

Hi freind, Now most of the peoples are having this eyesight problem. Because from the childhood everybody is sitting infront of the computer or telivision for hours. Then the bad living habits, lack of excersise, heriditary problems etc.. leads to problems in your eyesight. I have no problem with sight and i wear cooling glass only when i go outside in two wheeler.

I wear my reading glasses and at the same time to correct my eyesight. In that way I believe I can have my good eyesight vision back.. If i only have the money to have a laser treatment I will.

I have 20/20 vision so I didn't know wearing glasses would be that bad. My mum wears glasses and she loathes them too, saying how much it irritates her to have to rely on it.
