When I was down on my retreat with my very good friends we got invited out to a disco Saturday night and they were playing 80s music which I love! Well we met a couple who are in their 80s who are good friends of my friend and well she certainly didn't look in her 80s and she was up on the dance floor dancing the night away, putting us to shame! She kept asking me to dance with her, well I'm no dancer, well if truth be know I've still got too many inhibitions, and I hate making a fool out of myself Eventually I finally gave in after encouragement from my two friends and I got up on the dance floor, well I really enjoyed myself, although I did feel everyone was watching me and I did feel very self conscious, silly isn't it? Well afterwards I got a few strangers coming up to my friends to say what a great dancer I was? I can tell you that Wolfie was well chuffed! So do you have any inhibitions? How do you chase your inhibitions away? Do your inhibitions control you?

I am a pathetic dancer. I have no rythmn or style. But I stil go dancing when the opportunity is there. I have to admit though, that for me to be able to get up on the dance floor I need to have a couple drinks in me first. Then once other people are dancing and the floor is crowded I will brave it. My husband is a good dancer and since I am not, I tell him to find other people to dance with. He doesn't though, he feels that it would hurt me. I can waltz with no problems so when the music is slow we will waltz.

I've always been a natural born dancer, wolfie, and never had any inhibitions in that department, lol. I do understand that some people are shy when it comes to getting out on the dance floor, but their fears are usually groundless because not everyone is focused on them. I'm happy that you enjoyed yourself -and you should dance more often seeing that you got a good reception.
