Tow people are discussing a third, and referring to something said of the third. "It doesn't even make him intelligent, I'm afraid." Would you interpret this to mean? A. What has been said doesn't indicate intelligence, although he may be. B. He is not intelligent. all the best urban

Tow people were discussing? Are these the people that tow your car away? hee hee Sorry! I couldn't resist! Anyway, to answer your question, I would interpret it as what he said wasn't intelligent, but that doesn't mean he is. Or however you put the first one. LOL What was said doesn't indicate intelligence, but it doesn't necessarily mean he's unintelligent.

The "It" could be almost anything. Not necessarily a thought or a discussion or a statement. It could be a show off mannerism that is supposed to make him look "smart" and just makes him look silly or "stupid" This statement may not actually refer to a person's intellect but to a perceived concept. A person can be very intelligent, but can be called dumb for various reasons such as: "He is stupid. He will never get the promotion if he does not suck up to the Boss." So, I guess of your choices, I would be stuck with A. Shalom~Salaam~Peace

I would interpret that as meaning "that was a stupid comment" not neccessarily that HE is not intelligent, but more referring to whatever "it" is.
