Have you ever hasd a week were you were so busy that you forgot to put out the trash so the next time that trash day came you had twice as much garbage. LOL!!! Well my other half forgot to put out the trash last week and my back was hurting me so I didn't ... LOL!! He said I'll get it next week funny it's next week and he didn't do it. LOL!! So here I am struggling with over 12 bags of garbage becuase I have been having some back issues this week because he couldn't be nother with it before he left for work this morning. If it hurt my back dragging those bags of garbage out I wonder what it has done to my trash guy..LOL!!! So have you ever had that problem where you forget to put out the garbage and then have double the next week?

Oh...we have it easy here and after I read your post I wonder what I was complaining about. We stay at an apartment complex...and all we need to do is keep the trash outside our door everyday....anytime between 8am and 4pm. The ladies who clean the common areas of the apartment pick it up and throw it in a bin outside the complex where we have a truck (or whatever it is called) pick it up. I wonder how many garbage packs these ladies carry everyday....or if they do it all at one shot at the same time everyday.

we are limited to three bags..33 gallons size..and we have recycling bin and leaf and yard waste pick up in the warm months the trash used to pick up everything you put out..but those days have ended ..here anyway..but there is no charge but it is included in our city tax. some places you have to pay for this service and if you dump it off your self.you pay again..nothing is free as they got you coming and going...but we live close to Canada and the good state of Michigan does take alot of Canadian garbage and fills our landfills..for a fee..keep canada green?

We are also limited in some cities in Canada. I also find it totally immoral that the City of Toronto ships their garbage to Michigan. I think your state should refuse to renew the contract. Fee or no fee. Instead of finding solutions we dump the trash into someone else's backyard, so to speak.

the US governmentis getting so greedy that they forget who's money and land this is supposed to be..it is not our generation that will pay for this situation with not only garbage but trying to be the policeman of the world and we can't even take care of our own citizens. Sorry to complain..Thanks for your post.

I totally agree with both of you. We shouldn't be taking Canada's garbage(no offense to anyone in canada.)they need to come up with their own solution. Our country needs to stop mothering the world and mother it's own first. We need to fix us before we got out and fix and help everyone else rebuild and want not. So I agree with both of you have a nice day and sorry this got overlooked somehow.

Yes I have, but here the city provides everyone with trash cans with wheels. The cans hook on to the back of the garbage truck so the workers don't have to lift them. But it's a real work out to have to drag that heavy can up the yard to the road.

lol The trash guys are use to it. I put a really horrid love seat out once and they seemed to have fun tossing it in. Don't feel bad. They've built up massive muscles.

thanks I really hate to miss a week and then overload them the next week. The sad thing is that our family goes through at least one bag of garbage to put out a day so when trash times rolls around it's about 7-8 bags for the week. I was lucky I had a couple days when the kids where at my grams so it cut down on the trash. LOL!!

Mornin, Bella! Our trash people come twice weekly, and hubby puts the trash in the rolling dumpsters, then takes them down to the street. Our trash men have a big truck that picks up the dumpsters, so I don't ever worry about them hurting their backs. And Stuie,(hubby) ALWAYS takes out the garbage, not me, not ever. He does all the heavy work around here, thank goodness. He knows it's too hard for me to do, so he takes care of it, bless his little heart.

Morning my lovely Nova, Unfortunately when don't have those types of trash cans though I would probably need about five or six of them for the way we go through the garbage. My other half did come home with roses so I guess he's off the hook. LOL!! but I think that next week he's definitely going to be made to do it or else he's sleeping on the couch. LOL!! hope you have a great day.

No and it would be really, really difficult for us if we did as we have Wheelie bins and the bin lorry is automated - all the workers have to do is put it on the special arms at the back of the truck and press a button - the truck does the rest! Big problem is that if the bin is full you have to take it to the dump yourself as they won't take any extra! I do hope your back feels better soon - I couldn't take my rubbish out - even though there are wheels on the bin we have 8 steps at the front of the house and I couldn't manage that - tell the hubby I am going to give him a real telling off if he does it again! xxx

Bella, I do that all the time, But it is not that bad here wher I live, we have big trash bins on wheels, we wheel then to the sidewalk, they have a autommated truck that comes by and dumps it into the truck, so it will not break the trash man's back!!All the trash man does is push some levers in the truck, he does not even get out of the truck. But I have two trash bins, and I live alone, so I can forget it for a month and I will still be o.k.

YOu know I keep thinking that I'll never see the day that I get to have peace and live alone with my other half. LOL!!It's at least a long way off. Like 14 yrs or so depending. My youngest is 4 and that is if everyone goes to college and gets out of the house.

I never forget to put it out ever. But I probably break his back every week. For some reason I have copious amounts of garbage. Maybe it's because I cook all the time or I just throw everything away. No idea but we have more garbage than anyone on the block..can't figure it out.

Hi, Bella! I have to say that the title of this discussion made me laugh. I've definitely been there and done that even though I still live at home with my parents. There are six of us right now living in the house, but there were eight at one time before my older sister got married and my younger sister went to college. Obviously, our trash gets piled up quickly with that many people! Thankfully, my brother is the designated trash boy, so none of us girls or my dad have to bother with it. My brother goes around to all the trash cans in the house. He's almost 21 also so he has to earn his keep somehow! (LOL) He's very good about taking the trash out of the trash cans and replacing them with a fresh, new garbage bag. Of course, for my trash, I have a bathroom in my bedroom, so I bag up everything and put it outside my bedroom door before he comes by to pick it up so he won't have to go in my room. He wouldn't go in my room to get it if I were there either. He always leaves a new trash bag for me outside my door also. I know when trash day is, so I'm sure to leave my bag outside the door so all he has to do is pick it up and be on his way. I'm sure it makes it a little easier for him. I don't have to bag up my trash but every two weeks since my bathroom trash doesn't fill up too fast with just me contributing to it. While my sister is away at college, I have my own bedroom and bathroom. It's wonderful! Our trash days are on Tuesdays and Fridays, so my brother goes around to get the trash on Monday and Thursday nights. Sometimes if it doesn't need it, he'll skip Thursday. He puts the trash out to the road at night also so he doesn't have to get up in the morning to do it before he goes to class. I have to be careful in the morning not to forget and back my car over the trash cans! (I don't think my brother would be too happy about that either.) Of course, sometimes my brother will be gone to Tennessee to visit his girlfriend and guess what? The trash doesn't get taken out for a week and a half because no one else wants to do it! I think you'd agree with me that the kitchen trash is the worst. That's the one that has to go out twice a week for us. That trash sure does pile up when it's not taken out on time! Who would've known I would have so much to say about trash? (LOL) Very fun discussion!!

I know trash isn't usually what you wake up and say hey I'm going to start a discussion about trash. LOL!! But Yep I would have to agree that the kitchen trash is the worse of all trash LOL!! I wish I had someone to gather and take out the trash.. Wait I do but he keeps forgetting.

You're welcome for the chuckle unfortunately I am the last line of defense when it comes to getting the garbage out or then I have a pile up and then I know he'll definitely avoid the garbage he drives me batty with not dealing with the garbage. I so want it taken care of nicely and timely. LOL! I think I'll start a withholding process until what I want done is done. LOL!!!!

Thanks for the chuckle! I'm glad my brother is responsible for the trash. If I was responsible, plain and simple, it wouldn't get done. (LOL)

I just got done cleaning up my eBay room and the front part of my attic with my brothers help. I currently have 6 full cans of trash piled so high the lids won't go on them and 3 contractor bags full sitting next to them on the ground. I still have to collect the trash from the house before I put out the garbage tomorrow. So yeah my trash man is going to kill me too. But he had better stand in line.

We seem to do that once a month! I feel so bad for the garbage man. The worst was when we had a cat and had cat litter in the garbage. That stuff is crazy heavy.
