You may be able to help...

I am looking to get myself a cat from a shelter around the Newcastle - Gateshead area. Would you be able to recommend a charity, as I had a look on the Internet and I was overwhelmed? Or failing that, people who are breeders and willing to give their cats to a good home? I am basically looking for a female kitten of no particular breed. Wouldn't really mind having any female healthy cat up to two years old to be honest. I would be grateful if somebody can push me to the right direction.

class! I work up near there at a boarding kennels and cattery. I would definately recommend the cats protection league. If you go on their website their will be a local branch with phone number. The cats will be fully vaccinated and spayed/nuteured before you re-home (unless they are too young) Hope that helps. Let us know how you get on.

Try the RSPCA at Newcastle, or look in your local paper, there is always kittens in there for free..

Thank you, that's definitely a good place to start! Unfortunately there's nothing in the local papers at the moment (dogs only, grrr) but I'm willing to wait a bit longer...
