Does anyone remember back in 2001 during the Invasion angle when

Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kurt Angle were feuding? Stone Cold was the heel and stole Kurt Angle's gold medals in retaliation for Kurt Angle ruining Austin Appreciation Night. Stone Cold cut an awesome promo on Smackdown and threw Kurt's medals into some river near Detroit, I think. Man, those were the days. I've been looking for that video on Youtube, but I can't find it. Does anyone have a link? I'd love to see this again.

Sadly, although the invasion angle provided the best feud of 2001 in Angle VS Austin, it could have been a lot better than it was. It lacked star power(only Booker T had some higher than midcard superstardom). If they could have kept Sting or a big name, like Nash or someone like that, it would at least had more credibility and Mike Awesome and Tommy Dreamer. The invasion angle had the opportunity to be as big as the NWO angle back in the WCW days, and WWE dropped the ball so much that it looked more like a comedy angle than anything else.

Still, it's better than pretty much everything on WWE today, IMO. I enjoyed the angle, although I can see why some people didn't. It could've been longer, but it was good while it lasted. The comedy was great, I thought. Austin Appreciation Night, DDP cutting his "And that's not a bad thing, that's a good thing" promos. I didn't follow WCW, so I imagine DDP's WCW fans hated that gimmick. I, however, thought it was great. (and I realize he wasn't booked as a main-eventer, here.) Can you provide me with a link to Austin throwing Angle's medals over a bridge?

Am I the only one who was booing Stone Cold Steve Austin at the time? He did such a great job with his character that I felt some sympathy for Kurt Angle and wanted him to get revenge at the time. I've actually memorized most of Austin's awesome promo there. Definitely a memorable promo and moment.

I used to have a VCD on this PPV but sold it away some time back. Indeed the INvasion was quite an awesome one, given the storyine that Stone Cold was portrayed to be out of sorts and then came back to lead the WWE superstars in a fight against the ECW & WCW alliance, only to turn the table son them in the final moments, giving Kurt Angle a Stunner, which was indeed stunning and gave a very good twist to the entire plot.
