Do you have a bad habit that, darn it, you just want to keep!

We all have bad habits and we say we're going to give up this, change that, don't do this, etc. But do you have a bad habit, or indulgence would work I guess, and you are just going to keep it come hal or high water?

Actually I have 3...LoL!! 3, I bite my nails! I've been doing it for 23 years and am not about to stop. I do occasionally stop every once a couple years, but I always turn right back around and bite them. 2, Swearing. I can swear like the best of them whether I'm in a sarcastic and teasing mood, or I'm just thoroughly p!ssed! I've been told that I'm a vulgar human being and it just made me laugh even harder!! And the number one bad habit that I'm gonna keep (darn it!!)....SMOKING!! I could care less of the ration of sh!t I'm going to get for saying that, but I don't plan on giving it up any time soon in the next 20+ years. I know what I got myself into when I started so I don't need a lecture in that department...or any department for that matter!! It's my bad habit (along with other people's obviously) and I'm sticking to it!!

LoL that's funny, I thought I was the only one with those habits combined!! Because of my mouth my oldest was saying "puck", "puck it" and "chit", just like that when he was 2-3. I immediately had to correct him and cut my language back some too. Now I have two more that I'm gonna have to deal with, LMAO!! Really, what is a mom to do??!!

Oh funny. You should have me sitting next to you and I'd smack your hand every time you tried to bite your nails. My kids hate me for this...you would too. whit

Yeah I sure do. I am a smoker and can't kick the habit. Have tried everything and nothing works. It's not socially acceptable any longer and most of my friends don't smoke. I enjoy smoking but know it's going to eventually wipe me out. This has been a habit for many years.

I also noticed many smokers responded to this discussion. I am surprised there are still some of us left and will openly admit to it...lol

My there are a lot of smokers on here. It's hard to smoke in a lot of places anymore - you're right about being socially acceptable. If you enjoy it, that's all there is to it...whit

I would have to say my smoking habit will be here till nearly the day I die. I've smoked for 45 years and have tried many times and also many various ways to quit and seems I am not yet ready to give up the smokes. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

45 years is a long time. As far as smoking goes, I think you really have to want to quit. The first time my husband quit, he was so cranky, it's like, please start smoking again. The second time, he wanted to and was the charm..whit

I wanted to have healthy children, so stopped before getting pregnant. I suppose you have to want something more than you want to smoke. I loved smoking too, but it was good that I stopped. It's been 21 years next month!

I have a bad habit that i will keep whatever happens... well... it's drinking coca cola... every day during meals... i know that too much of on thing is bad for the body... but i just love drinking coke... and i have no plans of stopping... But if ever i get pregnant again... for sure i will limit my intake... to like every other day or maybe twice a week... i love coke... but my unborn child's health is far more important...

I have two bad habbits I smoke and I bite my nails. I actually stopped biting my nails for a while then started again. I get so mad every time I look at them knowing that I was doing so good. Next thing I know I'm biting them again. And smoking I should quit, but I just don't want to. Cough cough - Let me smoke another one. Its gross I know but its me at least for now.

Oh I know its really gross to bite your nails. The dirt and every thing else. I don't even realize I'm doing it most of the time. I guess you'll have to come over and smack my hand lol.

Okay, let me think of a reason to stop biting your nails - DIRT! You are putting icky dirt and bacteria in your mouth! That's my best shot - if you still want to, go bite your nails and if it relieves stress, probably not a bad thing..whit

I guess the only habit that I enjoy doing though I know is bad was, farting with a loud bang!LoL I just can't help making a loud sound whenever I feel like it's gonna come out, my family hates it whenever I do that!;) People should have to live with it, because I won't stop doing it.. Heehee!

You are bad, but you know it don't you. You could come see me, because I have no sense of smell 75% of the time. But have pity on your family....

Yes I sure do!....Smoking! Almost everyone is trying to guilt me into quitting. Especially the government!! I quit for a year after 40 odd years of smoking but started again as my lungs and breathing are perfectly healthy. I get checked every year and my doctor is sure it is because I am lacking the gene necessary for smoking to affect my health. So as long as I can afford to pay for it, to me is so expensive it has become a luxury item, I shall keep puffing away.

Oh yes yes yes ! I have tried since I was a young adult. I am the queen of procrastination. It even irritates me! I don't want to keep it. I think its gone. I don't intentionally indulge. I would never feed the beast. YET IT IS HERE over and over again. I am at its mercy. I am a slave to its voice. Whats a girl to do?

An indulgence? Would you call a hobby that you spend way too much money on an indulgence? I stamp..started just a year ago and now have over 500 stamps....and I don't plan on stopping buying them...I love to stamp!

A very interesting discussion. Cheers to you for that and most unfortunate that I spotted it so late. Nonethelss I will respond. I have this bad habit of staying up late into nights till 1am and sometimes even 2am. That consequently effects the time I get up the following morning. This is one habit that I would have done well to get over but I just cant let it go right now. :-P

When you have something that absolutely has to be done early in the morning (oh and on a regular basis), perhaps then. hey, you basically are on a second shift schedule...whit

Yes, I drink diet coke, I not only drink it, I love it and practically live on it all day long. Then I switch to iced tea, then back to diet coke again. I love the way it tastes first thing in the morning. I am not a coffee drinker, so this is my bad habit and indulgence.

Okay, what about those studies that link drinking diet soda to weight gain? But you gotta get the caffeine somewhere right? I love my coffee, iced tea, hot tea and coke, I can't say a word to you about your habit!

Weight gain? I weigh about 110. I stopped drinking the DC a couple of years ago. I actually quit for about 18 months, and drank just iced tea. I gained more weight off of it than on. No, no sugar in the tea, just straight up!
