Are soldiers safer than students in The U.S?

Yet another horrific student shooting in the U.S leads me to thing soldiers are safer in Iraq than students at home. Does anyone have comparative figuers on the two? I for one cannot see why changes are, and probaly never will be made to the gun laws in America. What are your thoughts?

I think that America is one step ahead to introduce more on line study courses to keep people safe. I agree, students are like soldiers now....both have the same risk factor...

I wouldn't like to be studying at a US university at the moment.
