Is there something wrong with me?

Forgiving the obvious (that I'm spending way too much time on my computer now, and my physical health certainly could be better), is it wrong that I feel no fear from paranormal situations? Early in my life I was told to ignore the unusual, pretend it didn't happen, or that it was all in my head. Growing up, I was fine with that last part, but lately I have actively pursued paranormal encounters. When everyone else is running and screaming, I just watch. No matter what I've seen or heard (or thought I've seen and heard anyway), nothing bothers me. Am I alone? Am I weird (relative to other paranormal investigators)?

you are definitley not weird, you are more sensitive to spirit and aregifted to be able to hear them-they only come to you as they may need help or are trying to get a message to someone-speak to someone about this eg a spiritualist they will help you-but you are not weird in anyway shape or form of the word but seem to me to be very gifted to be able to do what you do-i too am developing my mediumship so you are not alone-littleowl

Thanks, Littleowl. I don't think I am what spirits are looking to communicate with. I haven't really had a situation where I thought something was specifically wanting me to see/hear/help them. It seems more accidental. Maybe "they" are testing my ability or desire to help?

If you went and saw a psychiatrist, they would tell you that fear is a natural emotion. What you fear, is relative to who you are. It doesn't make you wrong or right to not fear the paranormal. I am not a psychiatrist, I am however, an ordained clergy member. I also co founded a paranormal research and assitance team. Everyone deals with what they do not understand in different ways. Some people get scared, some get angry, and many, like yourself, simply get entrigued. I have done all three depending on the situation. I've worked on cases where I was so scared I wanted nothing more than to turn and run. Other cases, I've wanted to physically destroy the manifestation. Most though, I have found myself in your situation, entrigued and interested in why the entity is there.

Thanks for responding. For me, I guess the thrill of discovery has always ovepowered the fear of the unknown. Also, maybe I don't know enough about what I'm up against sometimes, to be scared. By the way, Welcome to MyLot!

no i dont think you are weird. people are scared of stuffs not common. so people scream run away and do some things they do out of any surprising circumstances. for you, you just might be used to these things, and have felt them as part of you daily lives... as what a normal day to others.... what other paranormal stuffs do you do? im interested to know. these things amazes me.

I have studied the paranormal more than many people, so there is a familiarity at work here I think. I am willing to believe a great many things, but not always willing to take anything at face value, so I never know whether I'm not scared because there might be a reasonable explanation, because I'm willing to believe, or because I'm naturally curious. Seeing ghosts, hearing ghosts and having visions have become commonplace in my life now. Either I'm weird, as in "on the edge of something paranormal", or I'm weird, as in "on the edge of sanity". I don't think it's unusual to pick the latter.

Nothing wrong with you at all, it just that you have a sensible attitude to paranormal encounters. A lot of people get scared because they won't take the time to understand the paranormal.
