Definitely long term relationships. I don't see the point in short term relationships. Long term means that your committed to that person, instead of them possibly being gone the next day. I have never been in a short term relationship. I always refused, especially if all the person wanted was a one night stand or something like that. I always refused to do anything like that. My husband, of four years now, and i waited until our wedding night and that is how i think it should be anyways. It is so much more meaningful and passionate. anyways, thanks for sharing and God bless

You have a great point in there! Long-term relationship tests the love of both. Maybe, in one way, short-term relationship has also its share of tests for partners. :-) Thanks

Hi there goldybear! I definitely prefer Long term relationships. I am not into playing and in my age, I don't think I should be playing at all. What I want is commitment, like what I have now. I am very happy with my relationship with my husband right now and I wouldn't want to be in a short term relationship. I think that can be called a fling. And it is not advisable to invest time and emotions in that kind of relationships. How about you?

Like you, I also prefer a long-term relationship before getting into a lifetime commitment. Maybe, this is a way for you to know your partner better. However, I have also this idea, that even if how long you've been together as girl/boyfriends, there are things that you would not know of your partner unless you get married or you live together. So, there's a tendency that the long years of knowing each other sometimes defeats its purpose in this instance. So, sometimes, it doesn't matter really whether, you are in a long-term or short-term relationship before marriage. What matter's most is how you accept and trust each other. :-)

I prefer a long term relationgship as you need time to understand the personality of a person.

I am for long term relationships. If you have a lot of short relationships then people may start to look at you and say: Something has to be wrong with you. Which do you prefer. Welcome to myLot! I am new myself.

I prefer long term relationships! But if I get to know someone better once we start dating and I don't like them as much as I thought I would then I definitely prefer short term ;) haha! I've only really been in long term relationships though and don't really like "dating" people, getting to know people is the hardest part of starting a relationship and it's always so awkward.
