all you need is a antivirus, before you have to open a file that you download scan it first with an antivirus.. dont leave your computer with no antivirus install if you want to be connected to internet.. dont even open unknown file.. posiable it a virus.. dont accept file from someone that you dont know.. beware always..

Hi there! I think that reformatting your computer should always be your last option. My husband said that it's not good to do it repeatedly and try everything that you can first and if there's nothing you can do anymore, that's when you should try reformatting it. I think that the best way to protect your computer against virus is to nake sure that your antivirus is activated and updated.

If you're planning on reformatting your computer, why not make two partitions of your hard disk. Install windows on the first partition and linux on the second one. You can use linux for downloading. It is also safe from viruses...You can then transfer files to your windows operating system

Well langitbiru, Don't worrry be happy to using the internet in yr computer. As you know "prevention is better than cure". As my personal experience to using the internet. Im using the internet arounds five year's. When I was newly to using the internet that time I was so worry about the prevention from the virus. I always got infected from the virus. That time I also use Antivirus but it didn't any thing to prevent from the virus. Do remember now a days most of the antivirul program are not beneficial for common user's which not have puchased the original copy of the software. It's only warn that your computer have got infected. But it not solve the problem. And some times the antiviral software itself become virus and it give the message that In your computer virus are found. So, I think the antivirus is not a solution to prevent fromt the virus for a good users. As now a days Im using the internet without the antivirus & I use much more internet rughly, I to use download a lot of software but I don't found any infection. So, I mean to say that use but safely. Downlaod any software from the recognise website & well known software which you know very well. If you visit the bulky site then definetely your computer will get infected there is no prevention for them because there are very strong virus which could harm yr computer in any way. So, do remember " PPEVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE".
