Current Affairs for dummies

I'm really interested in currents events and current affairs but i find it boring and sometimes confusing to sit reading through the mumbo jumbo of long articles. I'm not dumb, just impatient I think. I want to know, is there a website out there that explains politics and current affairs in layman's terms? Something like current affairs for dummies would be really helpful!

Did you know that Wikipedia has a current events "portal" where people can get an overview of what is going on in the world and helpful links to expand from there into specific areas of interest? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Current_events
