I have recently read this information by Dr. Etienne de harven ( sloan - kettering institute) who do not belive that HIV causes Aids. he says that the assumption that it does is made without the use of electron microscopy, and argues that cell debris in the samples make them unreliable. What do you think?

I believe that there has been enough research to substantiate the well known fact that HIV does cause AIDS. It has been so in every case on the planet. Once someone has HIV they will most definitely get AIDS. No if ands or buts. I don't know where this guy went to school or how legitimate his credentials are but I think he is very misguided.

Well mahesh I am really not an expert or a scientis tbut there has been much research done into the link between these 2 conditions and I cannot believe that it is not true - if you could ask any of those who have lived with HIV which then became full blown AIDS I am sure they would tell you that they are linked! xxx

i believe they are linked. i have never heard of anybody getting AIDS without getting HIV first. when you live in Africa like i do, you see the full horror of what hiv turns into. here its a status symbol when someone is overweight.

I think that he is misguided. I am a Registered Nurse and work on infectious disease floor. I take care of alot of HIV positive patients. I also take care of them years later when they are dying of full blow aids.

Hmm, that's something righ there!!!Hmmm... to technical. But, i do tink that after your t cell count reaches 200 or less per whatever ounce of blood you are vulnerable to many diseases that a healthy body would generally not get sick form, thus causing this aids!!!

That is interesting. I have always heard that HIV can but not necessarily become AIDS. There are a lot of HIV+ people in the world who do not have AIDS. It can progress into AIDS if not treated from what I hear.
