My idea is far from unique, but I think with the world being what it is, it could really work. First off let me start by saying that I consider myself fashionable. I have created my own style. It fits my personality and budget. For years I have been doing crafts such as sewing, quilting, beading, designing and creating jewelry. This past year I started "Designs by Dloveli". DBD is a jewelry company where I design custom made, affordable jewelry. The idea is that fashion is expensive. Unfortunately people are judged by what they look like and what they are wearing. I design jewelry that looks expensive but really is not. In a perfect world these things shouldnt matter. We all know they do. So I developed my company on the idea of equality. Evening up the playing field. Taking out the unimportant aspects of competition and leave room for people to be judged based on their insides. Designs by Dloveli has taken care of the outside. All the pieces I design are one of a kind unless otherwise specified. This gives the customer a sense of originality which is usually followed up by confidence. Take me for instance. I was a single, young mother I had just graduated High School and had to put off college. All the money I had went to my child and my apartment. When I went on job interviews I had nothing to wear because I couldnt afford it. I began purchasing a few must haves at Walmart, Kmart, even the Salvation Army. When I put it on, you could tell I didnt have lots of money. I tried to dress it up but was unsuccessful because the prices for jewelry, accessories, and/or scarves was unbelieveable. I began taking photos of different pieces I admired and would create them putting my own spin on them. People began to treat me as a businesswoman, who looked the part. I didnt spend a fortune either. That is my idea. I think a store that is supportive to someones need and desire to look fashionable for less.
