With NASCAR starting back up. I was curious as to if you are a good sportsman when it comes to NASCAR? My favorite driver is Jeff Gordon, and I know he has a lot who hate him, mainly by all the Dale Earnhardt fans. For the last 7 years me and my husband have had season tickets to Texas Motor Speedway, and every cup race, when the drivers come on stage you hear the booing in the crowd. I always thought this was childish coming from adults. I was always taught if you don't like someone stay away from them, ignore them. And if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. I live by this. So are you one of those who stands and shouts obsenities or boos the other drivers?

I have to say I've always been real bored from NASCAR. I don't get what's so exciting about racing in a circle, I like the road races a little better but never have the patience to sit through a whole race. Strangely my family signed me up for Fantasy NASCAR (without telling me as they were about to lose their private league) and the computer drafted me Jeff Gordon, Robbie Gordon, Labonte, Truex, and a few other drivers I've never heard of. So now I'm going to try and give it another chance as the NFL is over and now I have something vested in the race. Do have any advice of what I should do if the circling cars gets to me as it has in the past?

Thanks, yeah I guess I'm stuck rooting for Gordon as I guess he was 2nd place last year so he'll be my best bet to do well for my new "fantasy team". Its no football but I'm hoping now that I have my "team" I can get a little bit into it. I guess I'll find out this Sunday. I never understood why the biggest event is the 1st race either. Shouldn't the last race be the most important, like for instance the Super Bowl for the NFL.

No, I use to not like Jeff Gordon that much..but now since Dale Earnhardt jr has gone to their team I really like Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson...so I hope the new teams works out for him this year...and I am not one of those fans that yells mean things to drivers or whatever...I am one that if I dont like someone I just wont say anything to them or whatever...I just keep my distance from them...I don't understand why grown people would shout things like that at other people especially since they don't even personally know the people all they know is the way that they do their jobs..

Thank you for your response. And yes, I am sure their are others like you who hated Jeff and Jimmie until Jr. moved over to Hendricks. Their is nothing wrong with that everyone is entitled to their own perference. It just irrates me so, when I am sitting at the track surrounded by 250,000 fans and when a certain driver is announced on stage, people screaming, cussing and booing, like they are a bunch of 6 year olds on a school playground. Two years ago they even went as far as while out tail gating (normal thing done at tracks) after the race. Some guy was driving down the rows of vehicles, with a Jeff Gordon flag burning behind his truck. What is the purpose in that? Sorry it just baffles me, to see grown ups act that way!
