ever since i started watching Prince of Tennis (Tennis no Oujisama), i was drawn into tennis and i started to love it. i was never a fan of tennis before and i've always thought it would be boring to watch it. but with Prince of Tennis, i learned that tennis is a fun sports, challenging and interesting. i became a fan of tennis and while i was watching this anime, it makes me wanna try tennis more and more. but i have already finished watching the series and yet, i haven't tried the sports. ^.^;; i still want to try it though. i just need a chance and an opportunity. the series also made me interested in the real tennis. wimbledon, french open and all. and i have my own favorite tennis player now, rafael nadal. ^__^ so guys, what about you, is there an anime show or any tv show that made you want to try a certain sports?

I will wanna try all kinda sports but it's not because of anime.. hehe.. It's just like i wanna experience the feeling and passion for each kind of sports as well as the lessons i'm being taught while engaging in those games ^_^ hehe.. Rafael nadal is good, and he's cheeky with his tennis skills too.. He brings life and joy to the game and that's y i know about him.. hehe

Go-Q-Choji Ikkiman! or more popularly known as Battle Ball, it's similar to baseball but in this case the players can use different tools or even a part of their body (like their own leg!). It inspired us to play baseball (thank goodness we never thought of trying to kick a baseball pitch!) and we even made a game similar to Battle Ball with the "sepak takraw" (a local game) as our ball, and we also had our own "heart protectors" but it did not last long enough to be included in our school's sports curricullum...

huh?! you haven't watched any episode of it?! it was aired in IBC, way back in the early 90's I think... the main character would be Larson (that's the english name) nut I can't really remember the "name" of his famous pitch...it's close to brown bear super pitch or something... then there was this dragon thunder pitch and other names...funny thing is that they had to shout the name of the pitch before they throw the ball...hehehe

No, I hate sports. I wouldn't even be interested in watching any sports related shows. hehe. But I know what you're talking about. These shows can influence us because they give us enough information and make everything look so much fun at the same time. Example is Nodame Cantabile. While watching it I suddenly got an urge to learn to play any instrument, piano or violin perhaps. Violin though is a frustration because I've long ago wanted to learn this but never given the chance (for reasons so obvious---expensive). Now, that was just the reachable aspect. How much more frustrating for those fantasies that aren't even possible, like being a ninja, or samurai, or entering the world of a book? hehehe.

so you've watched Nodame Cantabile too? i'm so happy to know that! i've watched that too! and yeah, like you i also felt i wanted to play a instrument. like a piano. Ueno Juris was so good in portraying a girl who loves to play piano and good at it. what's the obvious reason for you not playing violin? its not obvious for me. ^__^;; i was actually about to say its not too late for you to learn if you have the resources.

The instrument itself is expensive, plus the cost of the lessons. Yeah, I shouldn't dream about it. hehe. But we do have keyboards here, because my brother used to take lessons. So I could ask him to teach me. That probably wouldn't cost anything (keeps fingers crossed, he wouldn't charge anything, hahaha). Now if only I could still make this instrument work... Nodame Cantabile. I've learned a lot from it. Those are lessons that we haven't took up in our MAPE and PEHM classes. hehe. I should know, because I suck at PE, so I try to make up by excelling in Music. hehehe.

My friends and I are the exact same way! None of us are really fans of sports, but after reading and watching Prince of Tennis, we all wanted to go out and play tennis! Even now, though I haven't read Prince of Tennis in a while, I think I would still prefer to go out and play tennis more than any other sport. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to play together often enough to be very good at it.

Hee.. I am very easily influenced by animes and movies. When I was young, after watching slam dunk, I really feel like trying out basketball. It just seems so cool. I also got influenced into watching the NBA. If not for slam dunk, I might never know who Magic Johnson is.
