How many email addresses/accounts do you have? Do you use separate email addresses for different things, i.e. one for personal friends and family, separate ones for forums, competitions etc. I have 2 email addresses and one of those is strictly for family and friends. The other one is for things like forums, competitions etc because they often gather a certain amount of junk mail so I would rather not have my personal inbox filled by spammers. Please share your opinion with us but we don't need to know your actual email addresses. LOL

Hi ossie, I have one e-mail address and for me that is enough, as I have a hard enough time remembering that one. lol And I keep putting in different passwords for things, not a good idea either as keep getting them mixed up. (rolls eyes) Have been having withdrawels for the last couple of days as internet provider playing up so busy trying to catch up with my friends. lol And your not around! BooHoo.

Gee I don't know if I could manage with only one email account simply because all the spam goes to one that isn't so important to me. Sad that I wasn't around caramello when you were here but "the child" wanted to use the computer. Anyone would think it was his, just because he bought it immediately before he went overseas last time. LOL

All sorted into different sections and I agree that the ones for personal emails is the most important not to get bogged down with spam or junk mail. Thanks for your contribution to the discussion. :)

I am giving you a positive for this response and hope that you can cut back on the number of email accounts, if that is what you want. :)

I have 6 emails, I think. Most are yahoo. I use some of them because I don't want certain people to have my real email address, some to sign up for different services online, one because I have to have a publicly listed email address to join a certain website (which invites spammers--I had 1206 emails the other week), and one for work and correspondence with friends. I also have separate emails for my two paypal accounts, and my photobucket accounts.

Spammers would not be a problem if they sent something other than junk, but then again they wouldn't be called spammers would they? Thanks for your contribution to the discussion. :)

I only have one primary email address I use and check on a daily basis. I have a hotmail address which I use all the time and sign up for mailing lists and such. Then I have a Yahoo email address, and I use that for when I sign up for those survey sites and I don't want 4309434 emails to flood my other email. While my current email I use, most of it does go to junk mail, I do like to be able to filter through my junk mail and see what mail went there by mistake. That happens a lot especially when people email me back about jobs I've applied for. So it's definitely easier when I dont have everything going to one mailbox.

I am the same with you as well. i have three accounts actually. One is an old one which i had before i thought of separating my accounts. It's now full of spam and forwarded nonsense. Second one is more legit. I have all my friends , families and some work emails as well. Third is for more like forums which i need to check from time to time but dont want to consider as spam.:)

Yes I too like to keep my email addresses separate, so the most important one which is for family and friends is not clogged up with other less important emails, or worse still the spam ones. Thanks very much for reading and responding to this discussion sechsey. :)

I have only one that is the Company maintained one. I really dont have time to operate a number of accounts. Also the company account is only handled by me. So privacy is guaranteed. (LOL)

Good question..as such I have got atleast 4 email addresses..but in long run I have seen that it is better thave only one operative email id...ne time we open the message is available..means dont have to remember to open a particular one...

I have one for work, and then I have a yahoo, hotmail and gmail account. Plus the one that came with my ISP but I never use that one. The hotmail ones I use mainly for survey sites etc, the yahoo is my main one.

We have 4 now. One of those is strictly for family and friends another is for competitions we enter, a third one for forums we join and the 4th is strictly for our organic farming business. that is enough .... we find that it takes a little while to check them all the time as some get a lot of spam .... still has to be checked though in case it is important. Mostly the spam that we do get is from the forums and competition email addresses and do not know how that happens .... all these sites say that your information is confidential and all that but somehow the spam seems to get through.

Definately agree with you caribe that too many different email addresses makes it difficult to keep up with all of them. Just reading through some of these responses made me realise how much time some people must spend logging in and out of their various email accounts. LOL Thanks for your contribution the discussion caribe. :)

Another one with a gmail account. What do you use each separate email account for, as you have 3 they must have different purposes? Thanks for reading and responding.
