Have you heard about many of the millionaire who started tithing at a young age and tithing at a young age? They give a tenth of their salary to church monthly and they are blessed. It is believed that when you bring your tithe to God, God will bless the rest of your money and God will multiply your finances abundantly. There are so many people who prosper when they embark on this principle of tithing. Although it is not a must to tithe as God still leave the choice and option to us.

The Bible says, "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it" Malachi 3:10 (King James Version). I have proven this myself that when we are faithful to tithing God will never forsake us nor let us go hungry.

Well, it's like this. When I was in Bangkok I lost my job in 2005 and I was doing my graduate studies. I didn't have any saving. But God provided me friends who helped me and supported me while I was studying. They provided for me accommodation and provisions. Earlier, I had saved some money for tithes but I promised not to touch it because it's set aside for the Lord. I know that if I will give that money and trust God, He will give it back to me even twofold or more.

I can testify to this. I was brought up to tithe since I was very small. However as a teenager and into my adult life I stopped tithing. Since my husband and I were married and had a our daughter finances have been a nightmare. About 6 months ago I felt very compelled to begin tithing again. My husband and I agreed that this was what we should have been doing all along and we starting give our 10%. Ever since then we have been so richly blessed I can't put it into words. We still struggle financially because of poor choice we have made in the past, but by Gods grace we always seem to have enough for what we NEED. Somebody once told me "if you can't make it on 90% with Gods help, how are you going to make on %100 by yourself?" It's all Gods money anyway, He's just letting us borrow it.

It sounds really important but many of us actually see our needs greater as we have many areas that require money like children and house to support. I definitely agree to tithing but it is really a decision that I have to determine and give by faith believing in the goodness of God. Thanks for sharing with us your personal experience.

Tithing is even practiced during the time of Abraham. And continued on even to this day. One good example is William Colgate. He is may be the best example we could give. Whenever we hear the toothpaste colgate, we can remember his generosity of giving not only 10% but 90% of his income.
