Do You Get Sad When You Cannot Play Your Harmonica?

I am going crazy not being able to play my harmonica for about 2 weeks now. I've had times before where I didn't touch a harmonica for 2 weeks, but since I'm in the mood to play almost constantly now, it is annoying that I cannot. I just had pneumonia and now even though I'm basically over it, I still have a bit of a cough and I know playing would just make it worse. Luckily, I can play a few other instruments that don't require the use of my lungs (okay, I guess they do technically... since I have to be able to sit up and breathe). So I've been practicing guitar and piano a bit more lately. But I can hardly wait to play harmonica again.

P.S. Annnnnnd...Another plus for the violin you posted about, huh? ;o) Not that with pneumonia (which is a harsh setback), you'd be feeling well enough to even get out of bed!, but if it was just your lungs bothering you, reach for the lovey violin! Hope you find a (at least) fairly good one!

Yeah, with pneumonia I was pretty much sleep 18 hours a day for awhile. I fixed up my 5 string violin a little bit and got this one buzzing sound it had to stop, but I'm trying to unload that thing now and put that money towards a nice 4 string violin. My fingers have gotten too wide for the 5 string anyway it seems.

You know, I was tempted to get a wall hanger for a violin... so that I would just grab it off my wall and play whenever. Problem is, it's so dry here I'd be afraid about the humidity thing. I won't even put my guitar on the wall (but used to put my cheap guitar on a stand, until I didn't have space and gave it away).

Yes, that DOES make it so convenient. I can't just fling my violin case over my shoulder (it's heavy), and then whip it out to "fiddle around" with any time. And can you imagine the bass players? Piano it is easier as they have them in more public places, even not too musical places at times, but still not like a harmonica! I haven't played one of those for I think a couple of decades! Glad you are so into music. It's good for your health! ;o)

Oh, how lovely that you definitely have a lust for playing instruments! :o) After reading more of your postings, I see that you definitely love making music! That is so great! I'm glad you are staying involved with it, while still busy with college work. Keep it up. You can never be too young or too old to make music. :o) Hope you're fully healthy now.

Yes, I am back to playing the harmonica again now. One plus side of being sick, I figured out how to fully disassemble and reassemble my chromatic harmonica (which was a nightmare, but now that I know how to do it, I could do it again easily). I seem to be addicted to learning instruments. I love to play music. YouTube gets me into a lot of trouble because I'll see an instrument and end up wanting it. The main thing that keeps me practicing harmonica more than any other instrument though, is that it's always ready to go. I have one in my car, one in my backpack/purse, and whenever I'm bored I can just play (unless it's a place where I have to be quiet).
