Benny Hinn- absolute rubbish

Australia

On Saturday night, Benny Hinn 'performed' in my city, Brisbane, to an audience of 10,000. In yesterday's paper I read all about how he basically ripped off these people who have been brainwashed by him. I can't believe how he's getting away with this. This is what he actually said. "If God speaks and says give $5000, obey him. If God speaks and says give $10,000, obey him, do not argue with God." "Wealth transfer" was said 20 times in 10 minutes and "Gold" and "silver" was said 35 times in just 6 minutes. For 90 minutes he spoke about money. The theme of the night seemed to be "the more money you give the more God will love you." This guy owns a $36 million private jet and lives in an $8 waterfront mansion. I must say this next part isn't very Godly; when a child began to cry he singled out a mother and said "People came to hear God's word, not children crying. Do something with that baby." This guy is a thief, a liar and a con artist as far as I'm concerned. He receives an estimated $110 million in donations yearly. I think something should be done about him, he should basically be stopped. Before he runs away to Spain or something and spends the rest of his days living a life of luxury, living off thousands of crippled, sick and vulnerable brainwashed followers, hiding from the tax man.

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for saying what a lot of us feel coffeeshot! I agree with you about this man who leeches off people who can least afford it. He is disgustingly rich, yet he still carries on with his "preaching", and for the life in me, I can't understand why people are so taken in with him. (Hope springs eternal is what comes to my mind). God cares about our heart condition, not money, and yet Benny Hinn comes out with things like "the more money you give, the more God will love you." What rubbish! It's more like blackmail. This is obviously a business to him, and he should be made to pay his taxes like any other business.

I've never heard of Benny Hinn, but I can relate. I went to a church in Turlock called West Side Ministries for a couple of months, because my A.A. sponsor went there. They had a male pastor every Wednesday night who always said, "Big vision, big provision...the blessing of the LORD makes a man rich." Then they had a female senior pastor who told us every Sunday morning about another large donation, bringing us that much closer to our quota for building the new church. In two months, I never got the opportunity to actually talk with the pastor; she was always busy. I saw more service work in Turlock by a Victory Outreach congregation from another city than I did from West Side. Jesus would not have been welcome in that church. I'm not sure there was anything beyond the free pies and pastries after service that kept those lemmings coming! I went back to the Covenant Church (where I myself felt much more welcome) until I left Turlock. The last church I tried out was called Grace Presbyterian Church. I sat in the second row, behind this friendly guy who was impressed with my singing voice and introduced me to the choirmaster after the service. My second Sunday there, I was robed and seated. I'm a member now, and I've been attending Grace ever since. :)

The one thing about these TV preachers is, they have never hidden their wealth. Everyone knows that they are disgustingly rich. They also know that most of it is a scam. Yet they still come. You see, Hope springs eternal. In spite of all that they see, they are still blinded by their hope that maybe they will still be cured. If so many others have given money, and believed in him then maybe there is some shred of credibility to him. You cannot really call him a scam artist when the people Do know that he is getting rich off of him. They Do know that there is little chance of them being "healed". The ones who are healed, are healed by mind over matter not by Benny Hinn, which is subject matter for another Post! This is his business and he treats it as such. He should be forced to pay taxes. It is not a religious forum anymore. It is plan and simple a business. G'd does not care about money. Shalom~Salaam~Peace

i hope the healing he does is powered by the holy ghost of Heaven.if the healing he does is not permanent, then,i believe he is powered by spirit of darkness. he purposely do the preaching and healing just to robbed the wealth which God gave to individuals for their living. i believe is not somebody chosen by God to do his will to preach the gospel and heal sick.

Must be the god called Mammon - god of money. Hey, that 1 disguises himself as "Chai Shen" - god of prosperity in the Chinese culture, maybe Benny is 1 of his disciples? Hahahahah

I agree, he's the best snake oil salesman around. His whole act is a farce, and people are very desperate if they think this man can help them. It's sad actually that he's allowed to prey on people like he does.

A millionaire is a man who has found a need, and filled it. Benny Hinn is such a man! Hes not ripping people off, he is being well payed for service rendered. Just because you are I don't need his service, and don't believe in it, does not make it wrong, nor does it make him a con-artist, liar or thief. In fact he has 10,000 people who believe, and are willing and able to pay, and pay well for service rendered. These people are neither crippled, sick, nor vulnerable. They are people who need Benny Hinn's services, and who are willing to Pay handsomely for it!

It is a shame that people want to believe so badly that they will believe someone like this! It seems that now you only have to say the word 'God' to create a following... how sad and stupid this is!

I wouldn't say the word "God" has anything to do with it; it's more of a stage presence kind of thing. There are Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses who know the Word inside and out, but they don't have the public speaking skills to impress people. That's the trick.

Oh good lord. Just remember he claims God wait till God strikes him down. He will get his just desserts weather on this plane or another. I agree with you though, but maybe people will wise up and see what he is up to before he does more damage to the people who are harmed. Aingealicia

Well, unfortunately many will "pollute" what God is actually capable of. Am I a Benny Hinn follower? No I'm not. Do I believe in the miracles of God - Yes definately! It is important to know that you cannot buy the blessings of God. Should you give out of your heart, pay your tithes, and bless God as you are led - yes definately...but God's blessings are not according to your extra given. You do reap what you sew, but God knows your heart. It is unfortunate that many pastors do pollute God's Word to their advantage.
