Eddie Izzard: better comedian or better actor

I've seen Eddie's stand-up routines quite a few times, and they are absolutely hilarious. It's amazing to see how he can pull off the whole 'executive transvestite' thing. But now he moved on to become a 'normal' actor (and quite succesful) but I sort of miss the sarcastic sharpness, especially if he's going to play the same goodie-goodie guy now. What do you think, lipstick or Hollywood?
