southbeach diet thoughts/Fad diets

My wife is into the whole southbeach diet (no carbs) and she is pretty happy with it. I tried it too and had some good results. It seems like to me just another fad coming in and out again. What diet fads have your heard about (like the Miller Beer and popcorn diet?). Have you had any good results?
