I was just curious to where some of you jewelry makers purchase your beads at at a low price? I buy at walmart and sometimes online at Artbeads.com. How about you?

I buy at wal-mart if I don't have time to place an order. I buy most of my supplies from firemountaingems.com. The carry everything I need.

I guess you are located in Usa ..you can buy from us we are based in India and you can check our site vikasintl.com where you can find prices and feel to contact us and we can go from there. Actually wall mart and other stores are buying from coutries like India or Philippines and they mark up and thats why its costly for you.

Forgot to mention I liked what you have made, very nice. As far as low prices for beads check out garage and estate sales, and sometimes thrift or second hand store will have beads or pieces of vintage or used jewelry you can redo or use some of the beads in other pieces. good luck!!!!!!!!

Online purchases are okay, but I prefer to touch and see what I am purchasing. Have sometimes been disapointed with online purchases. I don't shop at Walmart so don't know anything about their quality. I like to support local bead shops, they may be a little bit more expensive but you have someone there who is passionate about beads and jewelry making, can offer advice, offer classes, you usually are supporting a small business owner. At walmart, hobby lobby and places like that you usually cannot find any one to help you or offer any advice. That is why i like the personal customer service. You can find local beads shops by checking online or in the back pages of bead magazines. you may also want to check out trade shows such as international gem and jewelry show if it comes to your town or nearby. lots of fun!!!!!!!
