how to cook a baked potato faster

Since potatoes take a fair amount of time to bake - and in an effort to conserve energy - you might like this tip. get some large and long nails - (not galvanized) and scrub them real well - now after you prepare your potato to bake go ahead and insert a nail from one end to as far as it will go in.... the metal will heat up and cook the potato from the inside at the same time the oven is cooking it from the outside... this will speed up the process but not diminish the taste.

Don't do this in a convection microwave!! just a warning!

lol, no. I was refering to using a conventional oven. the microwaves naturally cook from the inside out anyhow. oh man, that could be disastrous in the microwave!

I KNOW BUT PEOPLE ARE SILLY! if you dont explicity tell them not to, they'll try it and then blame u! lol, u'd be amazed at the stuff people have done, my mom works for an oven company and she's heard it all!

I remember seeing an implement you can buy that's basically the same thing...wow, a nail is a great idea and cheaper!
