fighting style... which do you prefer?

now that jagex have basically illiminated the need for pures (no wilderness as it used to be, bounty hunter and clan wars in its' place making it difficult for pures to win) how do you fight? do you still range away and ignore those pesky melee stats? do you only mage and igone your prayer so as to have high mage but low combat? or are you like me and do any fighting style you fancy? personally i have always been mainly a meleer, i don't favour and fighting style really, i will use them all, but i have never had the patience for being pure, so for me (fortunately), i haven't had to change the way i train combat, but how about you?

I've always picked my combat style according to my targets weakness. That's why all my combat stats are at 87, I keep them balanced.

i was an all rounder for quite some time, but it's easier/cheaper/faster to train melee so i ended up being mainly that. my stats are still not too bad, but melee definately dominates the reat.

I make my own runes & arrows for other skills so there really is no extra cost.

my character is quite balanced. 94 combat level, with 76 attack, 80 str and 71 def, 68 range and 61 magic. i prefer melee over range and magic (as u can judge by my stats). but u can say that range is the secondary pick. i dont really like maging as it isnt that good on the f2p. i once made a pure strength character and it was really tough to train him. but once the wildy was removed, i just balanced it out as well but it is still a bit low on range and magic skills. i barely play on that account now.

Running 2 characters just splits the amount of time you have to play & slows down how quickly your main will level. I've pretty much retired my second character as well since I can no longer use him to store stuff because of the trade limits thing ( besides I transfered most of it into my costume room ).

well... i play on the other character occasionally. i v reserved it to play on the f2p since i dont have any bank space on my main character. but i still play on my main most of the time.

i like fighting in dueling arena it is great. i think it is better than wildy.

I hated the whole pure thing that went around, I love just being all around and training whatever I want. I'm mainly melee as well.

I always liked the pures. They'd attack me in the wildie relying on their prayer to protect them. I'd switch back & forth between my DD++ & knives or break out the dragon scimitars special & they'd be toast. We used to call them glass jaws because they couldn't take a punch.
