The Scottish Government has just published proposals for the most progressive climate change legislation in the world: the Scottish Climate Change Bill. If the proposals are passed, they could commit Scotland to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050 – the target that all developed countries should make if we are to avoid the worst effects of climate change.
Take action here to encourage the Scottish Government to be bold and lead the world:

Now is your chance to show the Scottish Government that there is international support for bold legislation, setting Scotland as the example for other countries to follow.
If every country in the world had the same ambitions for a legal framework that ensures that the necessary cuts are delivered, then together across the world we could really tackle climate change.

I think the Scottish government will do this anyway but the more international encouragement the better. I've already sent an e-mail as I'm on the wwf campaigners list, so I can't send another one.
Scotland is quite lucky, as we have a lot of alternative, clean energy sources and the Scottish government has told the British parliament, that we will not be building any more nuclear power stations. I just hope they can stick to that.

Thank you for responding, I was really looking forward to see what do Scottish people think of this initiative.
I was telling someone about what the Scottish Government is trying to do and he said he really wanted to know what other energetic options does Scotland have. Do you think you can give me a few details on that?

The alternatives are varied, it'll probably be mainly wind, wave and hydro electric, it's about time the Scottish weather helped rather than hindered the people of Scotland lol. I'm never convinced by politicians tho especially as they have removed tolls from the Forth Road Bridge, which I don't agree with as it will increase traffic.
The best news is that the Scottish government have said they won't build another nuclear power station. A new Scottish green centre is to be established, details at the website below. Hope that helps.
