I have tried a lot of diets and even though I lost a lot of weight just watching my fat intake it was very slow. I have had real good luck with a low carb diet. If it's done right you can lose 1/10 of your body weight a month. If you weight 200 lbs you can lose 20 pounds in your first month. The key is to eat low carb and small meals 5 or 6 times a day. But the second month of the diet you have to get your heart rate up 20 minutes a day to keep the pace up losing 1/10 of your body weight.

I would really love to learn more about that low carb diet but I think I would kill myself if I couldn't have pasta and grains for a whole month. I don't really diet. I watch what I eat and I do cardio exercises 4 times a week for an hour a day. I don't lose any weight but I haven't gained any weight since August either. Now if I could lose 25 lbs and then go back to my way of exercising I think I will finally be happy with my weight.

The diet really isn't too bad if you don't mind protein. Meat, eggs and cheese is the main menu for this diet. You can add lower carb veggies and I eat several salads a week. You definately need to stay away from pasta, bread, grains, cereals, and sugar. But the diet does work, I'm on it now and in my first 2 weeks I lost 13 pounds. Remember to eat 5 or 6 small meals a day.

Yes i think it is a good way to shed pounds quickly but weightloss should be more long term than this. Nothing works quickly doesn't last long the more effort and time you put into your goals the more rewards you see.

Just be careful. I am hardly an expert but you need SOME carbs. The kinds you need are a few fruits, more vegetables and SOME whole grain breads and stuff, anything complex. I wish I could lose fast but the reason you need carbs is for proper energy. If you have too much protein and not enough carbs you will have other complications too like kidney stones. And you don't want to lose TOO fast, for one, maintaince will be almost impossible if you do (I know for myself) AND you don't want to lose muscle, muscle is what helps you burn those calories in the first place. Just eat well, and yes you need to stay away from the refined sugars but the good carbs you still need in moderation. I just want you to be careful, thats all.

I did atkins before and it works. But it is hard to keep up. I like to eat grilled chicken salads. And if you start eating too many carbs again, you blow it. And gain it back. That is the part that sucks. I a needing to do something though. Maybe I will try that again. Did you get bad headaches?
