Many of you know I have a 10 year old black lab. A few of you may remember my story about him getting shot in the back right leg. Well when I came home today he came to great me, and slipt and fell. His back legs almost did the splits. He is in pain now, and can hardly walk. I just gave him one asprin, out of the two pill in the package. I have always heard this was ok for dogs. Please let me know if you have heard otherwise. I also was told that benadryl will help him relax, but I want a few others oponion on this one before I try to give him that. Any experience, or information would be helpful. I will watch him through the night, and decide in the morning whether or not he needs to go to the vet. It breaks my heart when he is in pain. He cant even walk down the stairs to go potty.

Hi Jess Benadryl is fine..go by weight 1 pill aday for 25 lbs is a good rule of thumb according to my vet.I use it for allergies and to calm them and use etheric coated aspirin and it won't upset the tummy. You can also massage the hips from top go into the hip creases slowly adding pressure ..hope your pupper is all better..
