"Hustle & Flow" is the story of a pimp who seeks to become a rap music maker. In this endeavor to become a star, he must over come the hardships of the Memphis ghetto. Being in the middle age of his life.. he is approaching his last opportunity to become something special. When he receives word that rapstar Skinny Black is heading to his area, he seeks to grasp his only chance at real success.
In this movie of musical ambition, Ludacris is gritty solid as Skinny Black and Terrence Howard is massively triumphant as Djay. As a MTV film, it surpasses the type of films, that have previously been released by this low budget production company. Which is what makes Terrence Howard so much greater, he elevates the status, because of his captivating performance. The frustration and struggle that he displayed in his character makes everything around him shine.
I feel a bit googish for stating this, but I found the subject, of not quiting on your dreams, to be inspirational. With massive musical inadequacy, about my writing and music, I found this here pimps' melodic dilemmas to be striking to my heart.
Did you enjoy this film as much as I did?

I love that film. I only saw it because it got best song. " It'd Hard Out Here for A Pimp."I Always see the Oscars and I was so happy they got the Oscar. I hadn't sen the film but I loved the fact that a rap song got best song. So I was curious about the film. First you must know I wasn't into hip hop/rap before the film but I did like the music in this film.I love the scene where Terrance makes a deal with the next door neighbors to keep the music down.It is a great film.
