Ok this is my last BB discussion tonight, I swear :) I'm going to bed right after I post it!!
If you had to design a twist for the next season of BB, what do you think would be cool and great?
My #1 twist idea would be one that makes it hard for partners/alliances to stick together. Here's the twist. Every HOH competition is won by TWO people (1st and 2nd place) and each HOH gets to put 1 person on the block. I think this would be cool b/c you and your enemy could both win HOH. Plus, it would be hard to backdoor people or use pawns unless you and the other HOH were on the same page.
What I hate about reality tv is how some alliances stick together and every week they float through b/c they keep taking turns winning or helping each other win just to get to the end. Having 2 HOHs would definitley make this harder b/c now you would need 2 people in your alliance to win every week in order to keep it going.
Comment on my idea and share your own twists :)

So, here is what is weird. Before CBS and Big Brother ever even decided to have a winter season, I was just thinking about what they could do next and this season is what I imagined minus two things. I didn't imagine anyone having an ex in there or already be dating and then put with another partner. My imagination was to have people paired off and win HOH together and be evicted together. The only other way I imagined it would be if, as a part of the questionaire that BB has potential house guests fill out, they ask who their favorite celebrity is and that person gets paired up with their favorite celebrity. But, when they revealed the twists this year I wondered how they read my mind, minus the celebrity twist! So, I don't have another idea since they are currently doing mine! LOL! Needless to say, since this was what I imagined, I am loving this season!
I liked America's Player but felt bad for Eric when America decided to mess with him and have him do stuff that could result in trouble for him.
I liked the Ex's. That was a fun season. Pretty much, I have loved all of the twists. I just love this show! The only way that I wouldn't like this show is if it was cancelled! LOL!

Woo hoo, let's get some celebs trapped in the house :)
I am ok with the couples thing but like I've mentioned above, I don't like that the drama is mostly relationship focused. I think pairing them up in a different way would have been more fun.

Ok. I think you ARE hooked on BB9 and are totally more than watching just to watch :p
you liar! ha ha.
My problem with your twist idea is that... reality television is ALL ABOUT drama. I don't think your twist would create nearly enough drama. Then again, who knows... maybe it would. But What if the alliances won it... and then the next week two more alliances won it. You know?
I don't know if I have a twist idea. I don't know what they've done in the past. America's player was probably one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. I don't think I really like this "couples" thing. I kind of like when enemies before the house get put together IN the house.
The stuff I like about the Real World is how they'll put people with HUGE cultural differences in the house. Like, they'll put a dude from small town place who is unknowingly racist (because he just doesn't know any better) in a house with a tough tell-it-like-it-is black chick. (or african american..whichever)
They'll put someone who is very religious and anti-gay...in a house with a gay guy.
They'll put a former alcholic in the house.
They'll put someone with cancer or lupus or hiv in the house.
I like the variety of culturals and backgrounds and beliefs being shoved into a house together and forced to get along and/or work together.
So I think if they could do that. Get more diversity in the group AND make them work together, that could be a great show.
Real World meets Big Brother :D

America's player was lame and I hated how the people who controlled America's player were the ppl who had no life and voted over and over again or controled the BB message board telling ppl who to vote for.
I am not into the couples thing that much b/c the drama is more about relationships than gameplay right now.
They should do a RW type thing, you are right! How about this twist: pair each person with their opposite. Pair a devote anti-gay person with a gay person. It would be like Wife Swap :-D

I'm not sure. Because I think cbs had some good ideas that got f'ed up because of the guests. Like secret couples. Example: Jen and Ryan. That could have been an awesome twist. If they had kept their mouth shut they wouldn't be on the block. I just think it could have been excellent. I do like hidden pairs. Hmm. I think the americas player was a good idea in theory but was done badly. Mainly because alot of people who voted wanted him to do horrible things or choices so it was all screwed up.

Yeah some of the guests are real dumb by telling all their secrets. They should have never said and Jen should have come up with another excuse for not wanting to toss out Ryan. She could have just said another person was sneaky or something like that.
I agree, America's player was done badly b/c it was taken over by people who hated him. I think they should have allowed Eric to vote for himself and only let america decide what crazy things he did in the house.

Though I tried hard to stay away from reality television when it first started 10 or so years ago, I have been sucked in. I really don't think I could come up with an idea. I am stunned at the new shows, the new ideas they keep coming up with. My first thought is always, "What will they think of next?" and then "Who comes up with this stuff?" They continue to come up with new shows, the latest being "My Dad is Better Than Your Dad". (Personally, I don't think this one will make it.) But where DO they come up with these ideas? I wish I could come up with one and pitch it to Mark Burnett. I could make a fortune!
My favourite Big Brother I would have to say is the season where everyone had an "EX" in the house. I liked that idea the best. Your idea is interesting and could well be BB's next move since they are kind of sort of doing that now.

Patgalca,
I totally hear you. I was so anti reality for the longest time. I also didn't have cable throughout the 90's. Then one day I was enjoying having cable again and upon watching MTV got sucked into a real world marathon.
And then my mom got me sucked into American Idol Season 5.
And then the Donato's sucked me into BB 8.
Fortunately my reality television is still few and far between :)
