Best is yet to come

The saying is more on to motivate the other. But what is the yardstick to say 'this is the best'. Would it mean, whatever already taken up is to the level of good only. Further thoughts on the same, it gets bettered and bettered. Is the feeling relates to complacency alone on the part of the trier. And the person who says, is he qualified to say and even if he utters, can he claim as the best. Testing person should be more knowledgable. Your views...
