Pros:
Jim Abrahams ONCE directed "Airplane!"?Cons:
Jim Abrahams directed "Scary Movie 4", and this one was just as dreadful.
Mafia" is a spoof of mob flicks, including, "Scarface", "Casino", and particularly "The Godfather". Thanks to my why-fee and a little liquid elixer.. I sat and said hmm.. why not?
This is why not... "Mafia" is the epitome of silly.. and in plenty portions. That, in most instances was a negative. The slapstick gags, run a muck with so much wacky intensity, that I became completely lost in its brainless ways. Yes, indeed, it was featherbrained.
Forced to look at its pleasant side.. I could find this... I enjoyed most of the "Godfather" parody portions. Lloyd Bridges plays the "Godfather" character in wacky form.
As such, he was solid and released a nice amount of chuckles.
Jay Mohr, I am a big fan of. He was aight' as Anthony 'Tony' Cortino, who is the "son" of "the godfather". He did nothing special.. Im just a fan of his.
Christina Applegate was in there too, not as a funny factor, just as someone you can recognize. She produced very little, comedy wise.
Point is, if silly is your game, then "Mafia" wont be a pain.
If you like smart witty comedies, look else where.
