I literally just finished watching a movie called The Martian Child...starring John Cusack (of whom I am a fan) and Amanda Peet and I have to say it is offically my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE of his....What an incredible, heart-touching movie...It takes a LOT for me to cry during a movie but this one definately had me misty-eyed.... Heres the Netflix write-up "In this film based on a David Gerrold novel, John Cusack stars as a recently widowed science-fiction writer who adopts a 6-year-old boy to quell his loneliness. The catch? The kid (Bobby Coleman) claims to be from Mars. At first, the new dad doesn't pay much attention to the boy's story, but when an odd series of events occurs, he begins to believe his son may be telling the truth in this film co-starring Amanda Peet and Joan Cusack. " If you HAVE seen this..what did you think? If you HAVE NOT seen it....GO SEE IT!! RIGHT NOW!! LOL

I had to come back and let you know I just finished watching the movie and I thought it was wonderful. I have to admit that I shed a few tears at the end. Such a nice story and I saw that it was inspired by actual events. Wish there were more movies like this. Thanks for tipping me to rent this one.

I really liked this movie myself. I agree John Cusack played great in this movie. He is one of my favorite actors also as well as good looking. This is a movie well worth watching over and over.

I am leaving RIGHT NOW to go rent it. I didn't know it was out and I've been waiting for this since the first preview. Love John Cusack, have loved him forever and his sister Joan as well. And, for your information, I also just went to the library website and put a hold on the book. so after I see the movie I get to read the book and compare. I thoroughly appreciate movie reviews and book recommendations from here. So I have one hour until my kid's basketball game - enough time to get to the store haha. thanks..whit

I just love it when you recommend a movie because so far you have never steered me wrong! So before I even responded to this discussion I order it from Netflix and moved it to the top of my queue but there is short wait. So please keep posting your reviews.

You give a very convincing review! If it weren't after 11 PM and if we hadn't just gotten over a bad thunder storm and if I had my car right now...I'd go down to the Giant and see if they had it in that DVD maching - is it "RedBox" or something like that? I'll definitely put it in my Netflix queue. I remember seeing the trailer for it but then for some reason I never saw it. I will now. Annie
