I have to say I've never seen one before. I enjoyed going outside for the occasional view of our beautiful moon. Here in Central time zones, it started roughly about 7:30pm and when I looked at it, the moon looked very bright! The whole event lasted about a couple hours and throughout the evening I kept glancing at it. It slowly went from a bright round light to have shadowed then 3/4 shadowed then just a nailclip, and the rest of the moon was shaded redish orange. It was a beautiful sight. Not long after that I notice that the moonlight was in full beam again. I'm not sure how often this happens, but I would love to watch it again if I"m alive.

Well hopefully you will be alive. The next lunar eclipse comes December 2010! I am in the central Time Zone as well. And it was awesome. We watched for hours. We took our daughter out in the backyard. She thought it was neat. We even have pictures!!I am hoping she will enjoy the next one even more. Nature is so cool.
