Do any of you use wi-fi as your primary internet?

I'm stuck at dialup and I sometimes see myself running off to go use wi-fi. I try to rarely log into things though as people can easily pick up your signal and steal your information for whatever you do, whether it be passwords or just personal information that you wanted to keep to yourself! Do you use wi-fi as your primary internet, or have you used it in general? What're your thoughts on it?

I have to job that use the internet. In my daytime work, we use wi-fi in the office to get rid of the cable problems. In my nighttime work, we still use the cables. But we encounter a lot of problems, from system loss to system hang-ups. I suppose I have to propose wi-fi here in my nighttime work...

I've read about people in the proximity of a wi-fi network picking up on a signal and using the service for free. It is not so much the free service as the tapping onto someone's network that's a greater concern on privacy. If I had a number of PCs and notebooks in the home, I'd consider using a wi-fi network, but since I have only 2 PCs within the same room, I opted to use a USB 2.0 Netlink Cable instead to link up both PCs for sharing, and share my broadband internet connection as well. If I do not need any sharing, I just plug out the USB connection, it's as simple as that. I think it is safer for me this way than going the wireless way, because I don't need that currently.

lol! i have wi-fi with a good password on it! And since i live in a friendly neighborhood none has stolen my signal or information. So wi-fi with a good password (more than 20 digits) thakes very long to get. And if you gave like 3-5 wrong combinations you have to wait like an hour before you can connect to it again. So then won't get pass it!

At home, I'm hooked into a DSL modem... I have a cell. phone that can actually make a phone call on wi-fi, or open wireless router excess... For that, I used to have wireless router at home... Sometimes I lose cell. signal inside my house but if I'm connected to router, I never lose connection... I'm not sure why but I started to get a better reception inside my house few weeks ago so I disconnected my router... I did notice while my cell. is connected to wi-fi, it's internet speed is faster too... I don't use internet on my phone that much so I don't really need it to be lightening fast but it does help when I can get things done faster... Wi-fi has it's place but I actually prefer hard wired...

Its a good practice to disable file sharing(if you don't need them) in public wi-fi area with or without password protection access. Your firewall should be set also to prompt you for any incoming and outgoing communications, this way you'll have complete control of access to your system. I use wi-fi too and I have configured it this way.
