Usually I have arranged for get togethers and parties either at a disco or at a pub or at a restaurant but these days as I have started up my home-based side business I need to do lot of home parties. Since I haven't done such parties before, so I really don't know how to keep my guests engaged. Some of them are new to me so its tough to break the ice. I feel bit awkward inviting them to a party where the fun-factor is totally missing. I told about this to one of my colleagues at office who suggested me to play games with my guests. But I can't think of a great party game which will really turn out to be involving, fun, easy to play and entertaining. Can you suggest me any such indoor party game? I'm also planning for give-aways to the winners at my party. Please elaborate as much as you can. Thanks in advance!

Why dont you arrange for some 1 minute games. They will be simple enough and also entertaining. You can have a special kids section, where you can arrange for all kinds of funny, witty 1 minute games. In case, you want help on 1 minute games, let me know... I have a few great ideas. Treasure hunt is also a cool game, but takes a lot of time to reach the treasure ;)

1. Prepare chits with names(names of your guest) written on them. Distribute 1 chit to each one of them. Each person takes 1 minute to explain about the one in the chit. Others will have to guess the name. 2. Start a line something like this.. "It was a silent night...", Each one of your guests will have to add a sentence to it and remember, there should be a twist. Continue making a nice/suspence/scary story out of it. Each one will continue adding 1 line to the story and at the end of it, you will land up with a wonderful story ;) 3. Bluff master is also a very nice game. In a group, one of them will be lying for all the questions tht u r asking. The rest of them will have to guess who is the bluff master...

few more games... 4. keep a basket, each one of them will have to aim the basket and throw the ball into the basket... but turning in the opposite direction. 5. memory games. Place 10-15objects in a big tray. Show it to each one of them for 15secs. The person who recalls max number of items, is the winner. 6.one who can blow max number of baloons in 1 min... 7. drawing the tail of a cat with eyes closed... for kids 8.There is another game called "5Q". You have a famous personality in ur mind. ppl can ask 5 questions to u regarding the person(they wont know wht u hav in ur mind). u need to answer them. They need to guess the personality right with the help of ur answers(which act as clues) 9. Dumb-shell-arts or Dumcherats. U must be knowing this. Enacting the name of a movie or any word for that matter. Others will have to guess it right. Hope this list is sufficient. Do u want some more??? ;)

We usually play a game at our Christmas Eve dinner. The best one we played was called Shout about movies. They also have Shout about tv shows and other varities. Its a game that you play over your tv. You put it in your dvd player and then use the remote to control the game. You can play as teams. It was a lot of fun.
