If you absolutely had to choose which would it be The Wiggles or Barney?

My granddaughter loves both The Wiggles and Barney. When she came here last week she brought a Barney DVD and a Wiggles CD that is just music. It's a good thing because they both make her happy and I can get some pc time in. Basically she listens to the Wiggles from the time she gets up until I get sick of them around 2:00. I have to keep starting the cd from the beginning when it ends. She isn't interested in coloring or painting and my daughter sent both when she packed her bags to come here. I tried going through photo albums which she usually likes but has no interest in this week. I've listened to this cd before and already knew all the words and every so often I get up and do a crazy dance to the songs to make her laugh and boy does she laugh but then she tells me to sit down....lol...if you had to make a choice between the two who could you deal with listening to Barney or the Wiggles?

Barney hands down.
I can't stand anything about the wiggles and I've never been that anti barney like some people are. I never got the barney hatred really. it wasn't all that bad.
and i admit, sometimes I sing the "i love you" song to my Reggie Cat :p

My granddaughter actually learned to say I love you from the Barney show and we sing it together every time it comes on. I like Barney because it teaches kids a lot of good things.

I would have to pick Barney. Just thinking of him brings back so many good memories of my grandson. He is 10 now so those days of our "Barney" times are gone but not forgotten. He got one of those Barney's that you press his hands and play games with him or press his toes and he sings. It still sits out here at my house.

I did forget to mention that there were many times I would ask my grandson to clean up his toys and he would say "not now" and all I would do was start singing the Clean Up Song and he and I both would clean up. It made it more fun for him and me too.

lol...I think that's the only way I can get my granddaughter to clean up anything too. It's always fun to make a game of it and they learn it from Barney!

I have no idea, since I never listened to Wiggles, but I ABSOLUTELY HATE BARNEY! Even though I adopted my sons before Wiggles and Barney came along, I had younger friends who told me that they were getting crazy listening to that Barney Dinosaur song and if Wiggles is better, I suppose I would prefer that. But I was wondering since my sons grew up with Sesame and the Flintstones? Is Barney or Wiggles any worse then watching Flintstones Cartoons and listening to Fred say,"Abadobba do" all the time?

I will admit I got a bit burned out on Barney when my youngest was at that stage but I've seen the Wiggles a few times with the grandkids and I prefer Barney myself but haven't seen it on any of our stations in ages.

For me it is the Wiggles without a doubt! However let me explain a few things first
1. I don't really know who Barney is...I have a vague recollection of a green dinosaur but I certainly can't recall any of his songs.
2. The Wiggles, like me, are Australian so I am already a big fan. Our TV sets here are full of international stars so it pleases me greatly to see one of my own (so to speak) up there with the 'best' of them
3. I have a TV ban in my house for children under the age of 5 so the CD would have to win

As much as both of them make me cringe..I'd HAVE TO pick the Wiggles...Barney drives me BATTY (mind you I had my fill when my kids were little and their cousins before and after that LOL)....next in line to drive me batty....and actually this show drives me MORE batty than Barney is those Teletubbies....that show made me want to stab myself in the eye with a broken pencil!

This is ironic. I would definately chose wiggles because I live with Barney and trust me he is not too entertaining. You see Barney is my husbands nick name. To Funny!!!

I have not had much exposure to The Wiggles, ctry, but one of my great-grandsons is absolutely wild for Barney, lol. Before he started pre-school last fall my daughter used to gripe all the time that she never got a chance to watch one of her favorite daytime shows anymore because he had to have his daily Barney "fix," which just happened to be on at the same time. Whenever they come over I always have to take him to the PBS Children's site on my pc where he can play Barney games.

My daughter and I love the Wiggles! We've seen them in concert several times. I never get sick of them. In fact, I have a crush on Captain Feathersword. ;)
I have never liked Barney and never introduced that show to her. Of course, she is 6 now and has moved on from being Wiggle obsessed to being Wii obsessed.
But every once in awhile, she'll watch one of her Wiggles DVD's. I just think their songs are silly but catchy and they are very good children's entertainers.
It's too bad that Greg the yellow Wiggle got sick and had to retire from performing. I haven't really seen his replacement, so I don't know if they are still as popular now.

Barney. My kids grew up listening to Barney and my ex and I used to laugh about how we went from Aerosmith to I love you, you love me. My ex said he would find himself humming Barney tunes at work and all of his co-workers would have a good giggle when they caught him.

I am glad that my children are beyond this age group now, I have to say they weren't too much to either the wiggles or barney. There were others that were pretty bad but for the most part, sitting back with my son who is not feeling well watching an old Caliou program makes me feel awesome like when they were so young and with me all the time. But I am aware of both Barney and the Wiggles and I would probably pick Barney. We watched him more than the wiggles.

I don't care for either of them, but if I HAD to choose I would pick Barney. The Wiggles are just too strange for my tastes. I have never been able to sit through them. I don't really like Barney, but I would be able to stand it for the 30 minutes or whatever.

I would choose Barney. I have always like Barney and love the learning activities they do in the show. I love it when the kids sing along with Barney too.

It would most definately be the wiggles, I have never ever been able to stand Barney. Those songs drive me mad and they stay with you for days and days. I banned it from our house, I can cope with any programme apart from Barney. We went to a theme park one year, with my husbands sister and her 2 girls all was going really well and then they said there was a show that they wanted to see, I thought ok and was all for it until I asked what it was and they told me it was Barney, LIVE, needless to say I sat outside and waited for them.
