anyone interested in learning the affiliate marketing sector????

i am so interested in learning the affiliate marketing area...i have read so much of how there is so much competition and such and that you really have to well educate yourself to get amidst the competition...i have really been researching alot on the net and books also...i do not have a web page presently althoug i would like to get that started sometime and have that perk...i have heard it is possible to actually start affiliate work without a website through advertising in different avenues such as google, yahoo, etc...just wondering if there are any newbies out there or anyone interested in learning about the business as there are alot of people making alot of money doing this.... as in any business i know it takes dedication, determination, setbacks, etc...i just wanted to know if anyone had any input as any kind of new information is enlightening...thanks!!!
