This morning my 13 year old asked me, "Mom, what's wrong with my eye?" I looked at it and the left eye was totally drooped. At first I thought it might be a stye or a bug bite, but I couldn't see a bite mark or a sore of any kind. I asked a nurse friend to look at it and she didn't see anything either and told me to take him to the doctor. We went to the doctor here in town and she told us to take him to the emergency room because he might have had a stroke or Bell's Palsy. Needless to say I was a nervous wreck, but we made it to the hospital. After a long wait, they finally said that they thought it was an eye infection and prescribed some antibiotic drops. Thank God it was nothing serious!

oh my at thirteen and to think he might have had a stroke' that had to be scary. i am so glad it was just an eye infection and nothing really serious. myson got bit by a large spider once and the whole side of his' face was drooped and his face was numb.the doctor said it was from the venom of a brown spider and it would not be' fatal just scary. In two days it had all gone away and he was just fine.but is was scary.

I am so happy to her that your child is ok. It's so frightening when something is medically wrong with our children. As parents we want to fix everything for them, but when it comes to sickness (unless the parent is in the health field) our hands are tied. I know it's also hard for me to not sow the worry. My first impulse is to just grab them to me and cry, but naturally we have to be strong and calm for them. Once again, it's wonderful your baby is going to be fine.
