I have to have a liver biopsy

Some of you may recall that recently I was upset about being referred to a specialist by my primary physician. I attended that appointment today and have to go in for a liver biopsy. Has anyone else had to undergo this procedure and if so, what was your experience?

Have no fear. A liver biopsy is virtually painless. For sure, the worst part of the procedure is the anxiety you are experiencing now. My Biopsy was negative for cancer but the reason it was requested was that my liver was enlarged. In the couple of months between when I was told my liver was enlarged and when the results of the biopsy proved negative, I researched herbal remidies for liver issues and started taking two of them. Feverfew, and Milk Thistle were the herbs I took. After the Biopsy I was given a Sonar Scan of my liver and when I was told the results I had to say "Thank God." My liver was completely normal.

Unfortunately, my liver disease is for sure, its just a matter of how much damage has been done. I have heard of using Milk Thistle and perhaps I will get some. I'm really glad your results came back negatively. Thanks for taking the time to answer this post.

Almost anyone have fears on medical procedure, most especially of it involves biopsy. I have not undergone such procedure so I cannot give you any idea about it. Well, anyway, I'm sure its completely okay and you don't have to worry about anything. So just go through it and I offer my best wishes for you.

Aww Sweety you poor thing! I haven't had this done but my SIL has and she was terrified beforehand! Although she said that it wasn't pleasant and wouldn't be something she chose to have done for fun , it was not that bad and certainly nowhere near as painful or unpleasant as she feared! When are you due to have the biopsy sweetheart? I will be thinking of you! xxxx
