Reporting back on pan care tips

A few months ago I reported that I have always found it virtually impossible to remove food such as scrambled egg and custard from my saucepans and asked for tips. I am saving up for some chefs pans at the moment but one tip which was passed on to me really does work. I was taught to put the pan directly into cold water so that food does not "set" onto the pan but in the case of non stick pans this is the very worse thing you can do. I now leave the pan to cool totally before washing it and hey pressto! No more problems. I thought you would like to know that this one has been tried, tested and adopted.
