Starting a new business woes!

Wow is it tough to start a business! I thought starting an online business would be as easy as point and click but no such luck. I know in part it's because it's a service business (Virtual & On Site Assistant) but I thought the legal side of it would be not so confusing or extensive. The start-up is a b#*@! The good news is that I know what kind of a business I want to start, I've already built the website and blog to go along with it (www.perezadministrativesolutions.com) and I've got solid administrative support/office management experience in the field. It's what I'm good at, I'm a total rockstar at admin support and the control freak in me thrives on all the organization and little details involved in it. My issue was always sitting in an office answering the phone of someone who should be answering my phone. Why should I do all the real work for someone else's pocket when I could be doing it for mine? I love to help people but I hate office politics and working for what seems like no money for a company who has no purpose. So the VA world with an on site twist is perfect for me. I'm excited! What gets me is the having to start up on $0 and needing a lot more than that to get going. I've researched small business loans, minority loans, woman loans. I worked with those kind of loans while I was working for someone else and Alabama is a great state for a minority with a small business. The drawback? You need awsome credit, some capital and I don't have either. Which means I'll have to go on everything free I can find and do the legal side and upgrades later. Anyone have any experience or business start up stories to share?

Well, I used to sell at our Local SwapMeet (aka Flea Market) and shows, and even had my own Business license to show for it for a couple of yrs. There were Good times and Bad times with this, but overall, I feel I learned a lot from my experience. As for getting your Own Store, or Website, Products, etc. yes, it does take $$, but doesn't everything you do anymore take $$. That can be the issue there as well. I have not considered getting my own private Business for a couple of yrs. Instead I have found a company or two online I can trust in and have been working with them making some extra $$. I prefer doing it this way due to cost, etc.

I don't have any stories to share yet but I would love to be the boss someday and I hope I could think of something interesting to work on. I wish you every success with your business and hope you are doing great.

I do not have any business start up story but I was wondering if you could get a grant for start up costs? You might research grants that might help you. Good luck to you.
