A bird cr*pped on my head!

It's a beautiful day in Minnesota and it's supposed to actually get above freezing. I have a back step that has a bunch of ice on it. Last year a big ice cicle fell down and broke the awning I had over the steps. I ordered an new one and the guy didn't get it done so when the snow melts off the roof it forms ice on my back steps. So this morning I went out to put some ice melt on the steps so I can chop it all off this morning and I was standing there spreading it when something fell on my head. I looked up and there were four little birds sitting on the eave trough and one of them dumped his breakfast on my head! When I was in Florida visiting my daughter when they lived there we were on the beach and a sea gull dumped on my son in law's head. Has this happened to you or something like it? Yuck!

So sorry Jill I had to smile when I read that, only yesterday a bird cr*pped right accross the windscreen of car and I had to use the washers to get rid of, remembering thinking at the time glad it wasn't on me and then I read your post! I have had it happen once a few years back but on the back of a jacket so I just took off and folded over until I got home, not pleasant, but they do say it is good luck. Do you think they say that just to make us feel better about it having happened. Hope you enjoy rest of your day and don't get got again. Ellie :D

It must be your lucky day! I once got hit upon from a London pigeon as I walked through a rail station one morning. I did manage to scrape it off and had a good day.

My son had taken my grandkids fishing at a lake in Kansas and as they were getting down to the water a pelican flew over and dumped his load on my granddaughter head. We are so grateful that elephants don't fly or we might have had to dig her out.

I can't help but laugh but am sure it wasn't so funny when it happened. Wonder if those little birdies took aim and let loose knowing you were directly below them. I've never had this happen to me but I was with my mother once and a bird dumped a huge amount on the very top of her head. We both laughed and laughed because she thought it was raining.

So it went from being in your hair to your hands. Hopefully you didn't have an itch on your face. That would have been an awful mess.

Yes...I thought it was a drip off the roof until I put my hand in it to find out what it was! It is kinda funny!

Someone once told me "If you're walking down the street with your friend and a bird poops on your friend's head, it's supposed to be lucky!" I asked "Why is that lucky?" The reply? "Cos it didn't poop on your head is why!" I fell about laughing and now every time someone says a bird pooped on their head I think of that silly joke and smile! Hope you've got the "lovely" stuff out now and here's hoping it doesn't happen again. x

Oh my...I keep hearing it was lucky but when I reached up and put my hand in it I didn't feel very lucky! I'll have to have a friend stand out there with me next time! LOL

Yes, this happened to me years ago. I had pulled up to a Dairy Queen to get me and my kids some ice cream and had my window rolled down and was fixing to pull up to order and felt something. I knew it wasn't raining since it was a beautiful day. I looked and saw bird mess. When I got up to the window I ask the girl if I could have extra napkins. The good thing about this, if there is a good thing, I have since heard that if a bird poops on you it will bring you good luck. hahaha I live where there are many sea gulls so I guess I need to go to the beach and take some food with me and let them cover me with their bird droppings. LOL

I never had a bird poop on my head (knock on wood), but my mom has! More than once. In fact it was 3 times in one day! LOL She had been outside and when it happened the first time, she didn't think much of it. When it happened the second time she thought someone was trying to get her attention by tossing a small object at her, but she looked around and no one was there. And when it happened the third time she was certain someone was pulling a prank on her...that is until she put her hand on her head and felt the bird droppings. Gross! LOL My oldest son and I barely escaped being pooped on one day. We had just gotten into the car and closed the doors when 6 bird dropping smacked down on my car. Talk about a close call! LOL

oh man, that is gross! and of course you likely reached up and touched your head right? thankfully it was at home and not when you were out and about town... I've never had a bird plop on my head, but have had chickens ploop on me while I was holding them. yick. I guess if it happened to my head enough times I would welcome the old trend of wearing head kerchiefs.

I bet those birds were playing a game to see who could get you! I was walking the kids to school one morning and as we were walking past some houses I felt something splat on my head, I thought it was a water drop and went to wipe it off with my hand, and realised it was bird muck. I had absolutely nothing to wipe it off with and had to take the kids to school with bird muck running down my hair. My kids found it highly amusing as did my friends, I was not impressed, even though I was told it was lucky. How can being pooed on by a bird be lucky?

Oh dear! I'm sorry that happened to you! It is supposed to be good luck! I always thought they might just be saying that though to make up for the fact that you've just been cr*pped on! It happened to me once when I was on my way to meet my now partner for our first date. I dashed into a pub bathroom and had to rinse my hair in the sink! We'll have been together six years this summer though, so maybe it was good luck!
