This is a shot of one of the local species of Woodpeckers here in Minnesota. I am not sure what species it is so any help indentifying this would be greatly appreciated. This was taken at a feeding area that Springbrook Nature center here in Fridley Minnesota has. I love going to this area for these pgoto ops in the late spring and early fall as this is the time a lot of smalle birds feed to store fat for the cold weather to come. Do you go to your local nature centers? Do you like watching birds feed? Do you have any bird feeders in your yard? Do you have some photos of local birds from your area to share? I'd love to see different types of birds from all over the world that frequent your yard, feeders, etc. Thanks in advance. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

WHen I could drive I would go to the local bird resevers and watch the birds. We also have an elk resever. In California we have native elk which are much smaller than the elk that are in other states.

I have been to a local bird preserve here as well in Minneapolis. Some beautiful birds here. We have moose here in Minnesota that are as big as a truck and bigger. Beautiful animals to watch if given the chance. I've seen them by a lakeshore near the farm up North before. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~
