What is life if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare....

and what do you stare or dream of when you pause your busy life for just a moment? Do you manage to find that pause button, or is it stuck on fast forward.

So far, mine is still playing and not yet reaching any climax. My life is still in its rising action so far. Though at this point, I could very much heed to things that might be useful and contemplate on the things that may happen in the future in case I do want to have one. If ever I find myself at the fast forward, I'll sure try to slow down and take one step at a time.

Right now I am living my dream. However the work behind that dream has been work and more work. I have friends who remind me to stop and smell the roses and I try. When I go to Manhattan I still can not believe I am here. Writing for a living is a dream too. However living in NYC does cause you to go on fast forward. I am looking for that dang pause button. I am not sure there is one. Ainge

There is a pause button, it's just finding it that can prove elusive. When I lived in London, which is much like Manhattan and NYC at ground level, all hustle and bustle, those that know where they are going tripping over those that don't etc, I used to sometimes tuck myself into the side of a building and just look up. Suddenly there were tree tops, sky, birds, aircraft silently gliding by. If I found the right building, there might even by some architectural relief (in both senses of the word) too. Then it was head down and boom, back to reality.

I dream of my husband and myself buying our own house, not the one we rent from my mom. My dream house is way out in the country, dogwood trees lining the drive, fields with a couple of goats in them. Our dogs running around, and our cats relaxing in a sunny patch of lush grass. Me and my son playing in the huge yard, maybe flying kites, maybe me teaching him to ride a bicycle. My husband tinkering in the garage or detached outbuilding, with or without my stepson (depending on the weekend), or playing in the yard with us. *Sigh.* Wouldn't that be so nice?

Dreams can come true you know. I really hope that yours does. (mind you I grew up in the country and it was a hellish place for a young teenager. You depended on someone else to drive you; and if they didn't want to, you didn't get to go. Your friends were never close by and everybody knew your business) 30 years later - I'd go back tomorrow.
